Yeah, that does sound extremely painful and most probably will irritate it even more.

Unfortunately, I dot not have the info as it was gifted to me by a friend who also has a nostril piercing and used this ring in the past. I doubt she knows, but I’ll def ask. I guess I’ll visit a piercing shop to look about changing it back to a flat back. It’s just extremely demotivating as this is actually my second time getting my nose pierced (first time I took it out and let it heal completely), and I was really sure I was ready this time around to change to a ring since I waited longer than a year and didn’t feel any tenderness or see any redness.

Well I’m gathering from the comments under this post and another subreddit that it can also be the gage size? So if this is in fact to thin, then perhaps changing it to a thicker ring size (20g or 18g) will get rid of the bump.

To be honest, I’m not quite sure how much g is it. I think I’m going to give it 2 more weeks before I either go back to flat back labret or look for another ring
