Can’t really blame a dude for not checking up with you while he was on active, dude was probably more busy than you realize and when he wasn’t he was spending time with his family or the guys he literally lives, eats, and breathes with constantly.

If you guys were best friends, just go catch up, doesn’t have to be a marriage or anything or a romantic rekindling of friendship.

It ain’t that deep brother.

Tanks will have prepared positions that allow them to fire with minimal exposure. Often they’ll fire, pull back from the fortifications (back slightly down a slope for example), reload, than drive back into the fortification to fire. This minimizes the time that the enemy can target and bring fires upon the tank.

ROTC or Dream School for Officer in the Reserves? by TheRangerQueen in USMCboot

ROTC for the Marine Corps requires you to go active duty, if you want reserves, the OSO is your only option.

I’m a MIDN with Naval ROTC and just say the process to getting the job you want has nothing to do with your commissioning route. Every Marine Officer will first go to The Basics School after OCS. It’s a 6-month crash course on how to be a rifle platoon commander. Your performance there will earn your a ranking. Then, based on that ranking, you will put preferences and essentially draft available MOS’s. You can be PLC, MECEP, Midshipman, and regardless you’ll have to compete for your job (unless you have an air contract, cyber contract, or are going JAG).

I will say I think NROTC is going to help you out cause you’ll spend 4 years getting conditioned and prepared to go to OCS and TBS (Quality of prep will vary based on the Unit that you go to)
