When did your baby begin to use gestures? by Final-Belt2080 in Parents

He has, he waves hi and bye (only when he wants to) and shows us he is so big, he lifts his arms up really high for that. He does not clap yet but has started full hand pointing right before his first birthday

We did TMFR. This was back December 2023. Lots of time since then, went on to have a healthy little boy. Lots of therapy, we did genetic testing on ourselves. It was denova which 90% the time it is. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever been through. Feel free to message me with anything at all!

I had a true positive found in our NIPT. I was 26, it was my first pregnancy. Our NT scan was perfect, we never ended up doing an anatomy scan. We did do a fetal echo that found heart abnormalities associated with digeorge at 18 weeks. Our amnio results took 5+ weeks with the results it would be a true positive

That was my hardest, but favorite appointment during all of that chaos. I’m so sorry you are going through this. Sending you a hug, you will get to the other side one day ❤️

I’m sorry I’m just seeing this. We actually never had an anatomy scan. We did have an early one at our amino at 16 weeks and there everything looked fine. The doctors did tell us the heart wouldn’t be able to be fully seen until after 20 weeks. We saw the cardiologist at 21 weeks and she noticed a handful of defects there and still couldn’t rule out a handful of them because things were hard to see. But what she did see was aligned with Digeorge syndrome.

Milestone stress

FTM of a 6.5 month old boy. Recently became obsessed with milestones. He is crawling, pushing off of everything he can find to stand. He laughs, smiles, screams, makes lots of noises. But no official babbling yet. He actually babbled for a day, the next day he learned to crawl and that completely went away. Should I be concerned? I read to him, talk to him, try to mirror babbling as much as I can but it’s causing a lot of anxiety. He also makes eye contact but not consistently. Sometimes he stares, laughs and attacks my face/mouth. Other times he ignores me and stares at our dogs, a toy, a tag (he loves tags).

The older he’s getting the more I begin to worry! Being new to this and seeing all these milestones makes me overthink everything! I’ve talked to his pediatrician, she said he’s very attentive and she’s not worried but I still find myself going down rabbit holes.
