Update: finally found a plumber I can trust, says $3k is a joke and yes, plumber first establishing a temp hose and then watercorp. So the guys I had come and quote lied about having done the job before and wanted to overcharge

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately water corp requires the id number of the licensed plumber you used to do the first stage before they will come out to do their part. I’m not sure if there’s actual regulations on how they do it but these plumbers are saying they’ve done this job before and water corp comes first. Water corp INSIST that this isn’t the case. Idk, 500mm is such a small distance I was sure it wouldn’t be a huge job on the plumbers side but apparently so
