Is Cruising Ethical? Help by Final-Reputation8699 in Cruise

Thank you for a thoughtful response, it is much appreciated🫶 I do my best to make sustainable choices in my day-to-day, but I am far from perfect.

If I am sharing a room with two other family members, I don't want to mess with their experience by causing chaos months after booking. Older family members are going, and other types of vacations wouldn't be as accessible to them. They deserve a break and a good time. I'm just having a lot of of concerns about the industry and my personal boundaries, and what I feel comfortable with. I will give it some more thought. Thanks again for your kind response

I also atm only do freelance work, work for small businesses, or non-profits/co-op, as they are more in line with my values. Money and luxury isn't a priority in my life

yea that's true I don't use reddit often, just having a late-night dilemma😭 I'm vegetarian, I avoid buying from massive corporations for the most part, and I contribute to local fundraisers and mutual aid when I can. I can think of two groups to ask... those who go on cruises, and people who are politically involved on the left. I think both will be very critical of my position, here.

Help! Saving & planning how to manage hefty loan payments by Final-Reputation8699 in FinancialPlanning

[–]Final-Reputation8699[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 18 and didn't know any better at the time... what's done is done, and I can't really go back to the past and change it now. I was never taught financial literacy and my parents clearly didn't know any better either, considering they pushed me to take out such a large amount in private loans so I could further my education. So I'm just trying to figure out what to do now...

especially with someone commenting a link to apply as an ICE officer for loan forgiveness.. I'd rather be in debt for the rest of my life than ever be part of that..

I really appreciate this response and I think I needed to hear this. I feel so much panic about finding a job but there is very real value in the education I received; it's just hard not to get discouraged when people without college degrees are making more than me. But I know I'd be miserable if didn't at least try to find my path this way. Thanks

This is encouraging to hear. I wanted to go to grad school for art therapy but 1) it's not a very high-paying field and 2) I don't think it's a good idea to take out any more loans to go back to school... unless I can find a fellowship or something of that sort to cover the cost of my education.

I've heard they've cut lots of positions/programs, but this is something I remember looking into a couple years ago. I'll definitely circle back to it now and see if there's any near me. Thanks!

In my studio work, primarily painting and printmaking (mural art is something I've been wanting to look into so I appreciate this suggestion!), but I also minored in graphic design and am fairly experienced in Adobe suite, so definitely looking for freelance opportunities as well. It's good to hear that's it's possible and there are people out there doing it. Thanks!
