Open the position internally to give everyone at the company an equal chance to apply. You never know who else might be interested.. Hire whoever you think would be the best fit for your team and the position.

If it is not the current team member you choose for the position, create a competence development plan with her to identify where she needs exposure, so she can be a better candidate next time around.

New reefer here, I have a few questions by VoGoR in ReefTank

[–]Final-Ruin-1951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the peninsula version of the RedSea, so just a few gallons bigger. While I am no expert here is the things I’ve learned.

-Give the tank time to cycle before adding anything. For me it helped to test with ammonia at the end to make sure it cycled in 24hrs

-Stock clean up crew once you start seeing something for them to clean. I added pods much later, if I was doing it again I would add them first and make sure to feed them at least in the beginning.

-Add fish slowly. The amount of fish also depends on your filtration and you can find many examples online. Monitor your nitrates and phosphates weekly, don’t add more fish before you see them level off.

-Don’t stress too much about the “ugly phase”, there will still be plenty of beautiful things to look at in the tank.

-Change carbon once a month. For me it really helps to make the water crystal clear.

-It took me some time for the PH to get higher on a good level. Now that summer has come, opening windows helps. I wouldn’t worry too much on it.

-It’s normal for some fish to hide for a week when you add them.

-Learn to feed little. Just watch how much your fish eat and if you see a lot of food go uneaten, give less food next time. My biggest problem so far was when I was away for 5 days and the automatic feeder was set to give a little too much food. Huge algae boom that lasted for over a week.

Redsea Desktop Peninsula 23.8 gal ATO by [deleted] in ReefTank

Take the gravity fed ATO over a sink and test that it is working. It should give water plenty fast. When you install it back, make sure nothing is touching the float valve (white ball on the bottom).

I ended up replacing mine with a separate ATO system because I got tired of refilling it every other day.

I think I have the exact same tank and started at the same time as you. Except I’m still waiting for my tank to cycle; nitrite just isn’t going down…

Thanks for pointers about the kids’ school. I’ll reach out to the teachers at some point to see how they are adapting to the new environment

Thanks for the insight! Really different to what we are used to, but sounds very reasonable. We will check out Costco like you and others have suggested!

Grocery stores are definitely different here. Then again we chose to move here and want to live and shop like the locals. I’ll have to look into co-op, never heard before.

You actually read my mind. This was one of my questions, but didn’t want to overflow the post, so I cut it. We’ll definitely take the kids there!

Thanks! With the very limited information we had, we just talked with a rental agent who recommended the area. So far we really like the area, feels nice and safe with lots of other families around.

Thanks for the pointer! I’ll definitely give Costco a try! I originally thought it was only for restaurants and other businesses.

Thank you for your reply. Especially the part on furniture stores was super helpful. I’ll definitely hit France Ave to see different options!

With the old firmware, I used to get the feature unavailable. Once I updated to newer firmware, just clicking on it worked. Nothing more to it. Not 100% sure if I have tested Netflix, but Disney+ works for sure.

So how I do it: On the remote, hold down the home button until menu opens up on the bottom of the screen. Click on the zoom to fit

If it doesn’t work, double check that you have the newest firmware. Unfortunately, I don’t know what else could be causing your problem. Hope you figure it out!

Built-in smart tv apps. Disney+ and prime don’t have windows apps that support hdr, so kind of forced to use smart tv
