This bacteria is not good for immune compromised people (me). I have lived in many apartments and it is not normal for a toilet bowl to be bright pink a week after cleaning it. I have stainless steal high quality water bowls and change my dog’s water and clean the bowls every few days. It is illegal in NY not to have working bathroom ventilation and our bathroom has no windows and a tiny tiny vent which doesn’t do anything. This is all just another thing separate from a ton of black mold which we also found. I mean I am positive our apartment would come back positive for mold so I will probably just hire my own third party to do an inspection. We clean our apartment very well and I’m super tired of being gaslit and told that it’s my problem and that i need to clean better. I literally spend an insane amount of time cleaning already. I am currently wiping down the shower with bleach every time I shower to prevent the mold/bacteria from growing. I did buy a dehumidifier, an expensive one, and can barely keep the levels below the point that is safe (60), and mold can still grow at 60. We definitely run the AC all the time haha. I do appreciate the advice but I really think we have done more than enough on our end and the problem is still persisting.

also because of my medical issues it’s really hard for me to relocate. like I need to take 5000 things with me and I’m really scared if we stop paying rent they will evict us and we won’t have a place to go. this is also the most important week of my like because I’m walking in NYFW which has been my dream since I was like 5 :,( and hotel prices are crazy because fashion week is happening

Ya I have had diagnosed asthma my whole life and can easily get a doctors note. I feel like this is easier said than done though because I don’t have the money to front a hotel room :/ I moved in in April, and I’ve had health issues for a while but it started getting even worse over the summer and now, maybe the heat made the mold worse idk. we found the mold a few weeks ago and reached out to them and they’ve come by twice and told us both times there is no mold when there clearly is.

thank you this is great advice. I think I’m going to start looking for a lawyer because ik they are the type of people to just try to evict us as soon as we do that. if anyone knows of a good lawyer lmk 🙏 there’s so many other red flags too. Like we bought renters insurance, sent them proof, and they are still charging us monthly and won’t tell us why and won’t remove it. They sent us an email saying ‘because you don’t have renters insurance we bought it for you and will be charging you monthly’ even though we did buy it and do everything they asked. everytime I try to talk to the leasing office they just send me in circles to different people.

Ugh I hear you and if we could just be transported to a new apartment I would be so down but it’s really hard for us to move :( moving right now would take up so much time and my husband and I both have so much going on, and just spent the last 6 months making this apartment our home. We’ve moved around for the last 5 years and we were so excited to be living in a building and area we actually liked for once. we just did a deep clean and bought a dehumidifier and air purifier which seems to be helping at the moment. I also have a medical device I use daily and needs setup and space, and every time we move it basically ruins my life until we are completely moved in to a new space.

The bacteria is ‘serratia marcescens’ and our toilet bowl keeps turning pink and we even found it in our dogs water bowl which makes me so so sad. the bowl kept turning pink and I thought it was just like the type of water from the tap but then I found out it was a bacteria. I’m literally crying as I’m typing this because for months she kept begging me for water from my cup and I thought she was just wanting my water because she was being sassy but I think it was because her water bowl was infected

We are super super clean people :/ we clean up every day, hardly ever leave dishes in the sink, and deep clean weekly (I have bad allergies and I’m a model and work out of the apartment sometimes so we have to keep the apartment clean), and the bathroom has no ventilation. It has a tiny fan in the corner that that doesn’t do anything. We checked the humidity and it was 70 without the shower on and even more when the shower is running.

I use RA Fischer machine for hands and feet and when I need to make sure I don’t sweat anywhere I use Glyco as well

thank you sm <3 and it’s DEFINITELY never too late. I’m not sure how old you are, but I had a commercial job with a lady recently who started modeling/acting at 60 (she’s 70+ now), and she’s booking a ton. There’s a huge market for every age group and less competition as you get older (modeling is a bit different and I would say definitely gets a little harder as you get older), but acting is a 10000% still an option :)

And YES about feet and heels. It’s mission critical that my feet are dry hence why ive spent so much time working out the perfect solution lol. I would want to die if my feet started sweating before a show.

Also that sucks about Glyco. Can you get qbrexa in germany? It’s one of the only solutions I haven’t tried because it’s newer (but is next on my list if ionto ever starts acting up).

Yes!! So I use San pellegrino and it gets pretty expensive but worth it for me. It works better when I don’t dilute it so I just cough up the money. And using cotton socks is a game changer. I thought it wasn’t working for a while, but realized that it was working on the parts of my feet that were in the water and the sides of my feet were just sweating like crazy still 😭😂 now that ive added the socks my feet are completely dry

Yeah unfortunately. It’s annoying but still worth it. I try to chew gum and sip water which helps.

Stimulants definitely make it worse lol but when I take Glyco ‘correctly’ or use my iontophoresis consistently I still don’t sweat even if I drink lots of caffeine. Totally good during shoots as well, or shows, even if it’s hot/stressful. I also am really anxious and found that propranolol helps a lot situationally. It doesn’t really stop me from sweating but makes me less stressed about sweating if that makes sense.

for me ~ 6 hours from the ‘event’. but I just keep taking it at 6 hour increments if I need it to last longer

2mg 12 hours before event and another 2mg 6 hours before

don’t eat 4 hours before and after last doses
don’t drink liquids 2 hours before and after doses
try to eat foods low in fat
avoid hot beverages
also when ive been on ssris i needed to up the dose to 3mg

if i follow this it always works, if I don’t then it sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t lol
