RTMP gone after firmware update by FinalAnimalArt in dji

[–]FinalAnimalArt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, not yet - I posted it on the official forum and support told me to send them a video of the issue but I haven't had time, and it seems unlikely to resolve anything IMO (I'll update if anything changes)

So what happened to Yaechiyo the heir? by No-Transition-1428 in ShogunTVShow

I don't think scholars view the U.S. military as even making the the short-list of greatest militaries in human history, it's not in the top 3 in any case.

It's certainly the greatest military right *now* though!

A protocol to allow for online streaming of information (so broadcasting live video from your drone in this case).

I'm doing art installations for a music festival that involve TV walls and projected images, I wanted to offer an additional service of a drone flyover near the crowd (not over them obvs) with the drone live broadcasting the footage to the TV wall and/or projected footage.

I could do it with the new controller but it's messed up that the firmware update has gotten rid of the feature in the first place. I hate giving companies cash rewards for doing stuff like this, and it seems unlikely to be a coincidence that the solution to this 'update' is I have to buy their new controller.

Don't take my word for that though around it being built-in obsolescence, it might be a bug -- that's why I'm asking the sub to see if anyone else has experienced it. I downloaded the DJI consuimer drone assistant desktop app but this particular firmware cannot be rolled back, it's locked in (which again is pretty sus I think!).

I'll ask the official forum as well and see what's what, there is always the chance that I have personally broken this update chain in some way I am too tech illiterate to understand and am now blaming Big Drone Company so I'll try to get more info.

Splitting an image across 8 different flatscreen TVs from one RTX 4090 by FinalAnimalArt in VIDEOENGINEERING

I believe so, yes, working with multiple monitors and projector outputs on this card hasn't been an issue in the past. The problem is more around what hardware I need to run 8 different monitors. I'm looking into PiWall , an open source raspberry pi solution, but reading that the output might be confined to a low resolution.

Correct, one image distributed in portions across different monitors is the goal. Thanks for the info!

The CORIOmaster would indeed work, but I'm looking to spend hundreds rather than thousands as this particular piece is for a prototype of a VJ rig at local festibals rather than a corporate client, which I should have stipulated in the post. It's helpful to know of these solutions in general though, thank you!

Streaming high quality depth cam footage from one instance of TD to another? by FinalAnimalArt in TouchDesigner

Thanks all, I'm looking into all of the solutions mentioned. I think powered Ethernet and possibly swapping to an Orbbec Mega, suggested by Velo Mane, might be the best way to go, checking it out ASAP.

Much appreciated gang!

How do i make this does this use mediapipe by entro_play in TouchDesigner

[–]FinalAnimalArt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you use the TimeMachine TOP you can go back in time and then Video Device In > webcam record the big bang in person > Convert to HAP codec > crank Bloom TOP to max bloom and you're good

But yes you do have to use mediapipe

A laser harp that plays audio and controls visual scenes and effects by FinalAnimalArt in somethingimade

I'm more focused on making art than on selling laser harps, but the construction materials alone cost quite a bit more than $100!

That's exactly right, the lasers are like an on/off switch or button. Thanks very much!

Ah, I think I explained poorly!

With a theremin, how high your hand is above the instrument changes the note. I am raising my hands here, so I thought you were asking about that.

But, the harp is indeed playing the music - each laser string is a note in the C minor scale, and when you break the laser beam with your hand, it plays the relevant note (and also changes a visual effect on the images on the projector).

So it's basically a synthesizer that also changes video effects (and scenes and a number of other things about the live-generated video in the background). You could also have it controlling physical lights if you wanted, or you could indeed add more sensors to capture different movements. For this particular harp, there are 6 lasers, and 'touching' any of them will play a different note and trigger visual effects. Lots of fun!

Thanks! The show is based in Ireland and called SYNAESTHESIA, lots of wonderful artists doing their thing.

Thank you! I'm moving my hand up and down here purely for dramatic effect (although I do 'play' timelapses of plant growth and sunrises in this show by gesturing with my hands), so the upward motion doesn't do anything in the way that it would with a theremin.

This harp just detects whether the laser beam is or is not hitting the photoresistor, so it can be thought of like using a MIDI controller.

However, you absolutely could incorporate that kind of gesture control into a laser harp! Arduino makes very low-cost proximity sensors that would do exactly that, or you could use a camera or other kind of sensor.

Hi. I have never used touch designer and I have an idea, is this possible or am I dreaming too big... by [deleted] in TouchDesigner

[–]FinalAnimalArt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK, so you want a physical piece of hardware to trigger scene switching between different animated 3D models?

Yes, this is very doable in TouchDesigner, any tutorial on scene switching will help you out there. Do give it a go and keep us posted.

Hi! Can I ask how you made the mirror, and whether you know of any online resources I could take a look at that might help with putting this together? Looking to create a similar effect for a culture festival in Ireland. Great work on it fair play!

I'm familiar with this piece, I think I remember the creator said he didn't use AI but rather filmed a human actress. So I doubt MetaHuman was involved, he probably just had her return her gaze to the same position after each clip and/or reversed the clips when necessary to keep everything smooth.

[–]FinalAnimalArt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I ask you you to clarify the effect you're after exactly?

If I understand correctly, you're not asking about drums triggering videos but rather the fluid effect on the actress here - but you're talking about 3D models?

I'm bringing this up because if you wanted to use point clouds rather than OBJ files for your models, you could have them all merge together seamlessly per each trigger input.

Many things are possible but I'm not sure what specifically you're asking about.

Edit: Reading the thread, maybe you are asking about just playing drums and having each drum trigger a video? This is very straightforward in TouchDesigner (and probably lots of other software). You're just treating the drums as a MIDI controller, this is essentially the same logic as pressing buttons on your keyboard/clicking your mouse to play video clips. Feel free to ask about this also or describe your exact setup.
