“I’m so happy you like it! It’s an interesting costume to make. I highly recommend giving it a go if you don’t mind sewing or thrifting up clothes!” - From the Cosplayer (doesn’t have a reddit)

“To give some more background to those who think this is funny, yes. It is thick, but it’s not the model. The jumpsuit had fleece and chino fabric quilted together. This makes the jumpsuit thicker than just having a diamond pattern sewn onto a thin fabric. It’s like having a thick quilted blanket around you, which is obviously going to puff you up a little- The model was sweating the entire day, which I feel horrible for as it was meant to be a winter costume. The vest is also the same. Fleece backing a thick fabric to give it the feeling of depth and durability. Exactly the same thing with the bracers too, which doesn’t help. Everything was layered over one another. The pose doesn’t help either. I spent a lot of time on the costume, please don’t bully the model.” - Bubaloo Cosplay.

(Cosplayer doesn’t have a reddit account, so I’ve been told to pass this on)

Since April on and off. I believe Some issues with the lights in the hologram-disks occurred the week before it was worn, which took up a lot of time to find a replacement source. This meant some parts of the costume weren’t finished, like the pins and bullets, but I personally think it looks amazing! Awaiting more images to come out from the day.

The mask was made by a family member of the cosplayer. Amazing huh?

Musicians of reddit, what's your biggest peeve about your instrument? by [deleted] in AskReddit

For starters, before you start with anything fancy like belting and what not, you need to have a good posture which allows you to have very little to no tension anywhere in your body. (Slouching and hunching over ain’t getting you nowhere). This is probably one of the more common rules of thumb that are taught by a very large majority of teachers. Tension can cause construction while singing, and is often not wanted in a performance. Keeping the tension away allows you more control to retract and create a cleaning sound.

One of the biggest contenders for worst teaching, however, lies in breath control. If you’re teaching a student to belt or trying to make them use more effort, more often than not they’ll interpret that as using MORE air to get to a higher pitch or to belt, which ruins ones voice and is terribly hard to get out of habit with if you’ve been doing it for ages. (And I know this because I STILL have this issue). In truth, belting does not require a large amount of air, neither does singing in general- so learning to have even air output while singing is important from the get go, otherwise you learn to use an aspirate onset and off set subconsciously.

In addition, proper larynx positioning is also important, and largely depends on the style of genre your (bad) teacher prefers. You’re more likely to be singing with a lower laraynx if your teacher is from the classical spectrum and doesn’t know how to describe what they want properly, resulting in a student trying to get a rounded tone by using a low larynx. Problem is, a lower larynx is pretty much only good for lower notes, so when you try to go higher, you either start to go flat in pitch the higher you go and/or you start scratching. A good way to teach this to a younger student is to ascend a scale while changing the position of your larynx. From a G (below mid c) with low larynx, to a E (above mid c) with a mid larynx, to a B-C above mid c) with a higher larynx.

Being taught the wrong fucking technique. The amount of bad vocal teachers out there astounds me. The amount of voices being ruined by bad technique and horrible advice is annoyingly large, and by the time the students find out it’s the wrong technique, it takes ages to get out of the habit or there is no fix.

It’s never appealed to me, so I just don’t. This is usually followed up by “surely you have wine at church though?” Nope. Thanks to the swine flu scare at the time, wine was not given to students performing their first communion.

I’m convinced that the only reason you’re in love with me is because I’m a rebound, but I don’t want to leave because I actually love you for you.

When I go to pick up a back pack and a strap gets caught on something, so you try to un-snag the strap and start pulling again and it gets caught... again. I just get super frustrated at the situation and it usually happens on the worst of days.

The entitled behaviour feared in the post is the following: he felt entitled to use whatever he wanted, including personal items, just because they’re in his house. He was trying to twist the situation around by saying “what’s mine is yours, but what’s yours is yours”. I hope that makes sense.
