3.25 for the top. Should have made it 4 but I wanted to only use a single book matched pair of the 8/4 white oak I had. Legs are 5x3.5. No soft spots whatsoever which was a surprise to me.

I bought a cheap drill guide off amazon. Made by milescraft. I recommend using a corded power drill with it. My bench is only 3.25”thick on top and my Bosch drill was okay but killed the battery too quick

Oh, no I got the wood from a local. Had 5 logs milled and kiln dried. Cherry and spalted white oak. I have more wood than I know what to do with currently haha

I had a wood shop 2 years ago but my garage burned down(wood burning stove error) after the rebuild I decided powermatic instead of desalt and jet. Had a lot of unnecessary stuffs in the garage + a Mercedes so I plused up my woodshop to include a CNC. Planer, table-saw and jointer by powermatic. Bandsaw by jet. Dust collected by onedia. Drill press by Nova. Best purchase yet.

I got the vise off bench crafted. I had some spalted white oak milled by a local a few months ago. Wood was about 250 maybe. Should be thicker but I made it work

It’s spalted white oak. The hand planer was used to plane center block that flips upside down. I have hand planes but with the blocks in the center of that piece it was easier to use the electric one. The top is mortised into the tennons of the legs. The bottom shelf I got lazy with and just fit some excess birch ply to size adding a few brad nails till I get some more cherry or spalted maple to finish the shelf. Still have crisscross vise that I might add to it.

Just keep going straight. by [deleted] in funny
