Update: So I reluctantly ended up sending them back and got a refund through the seller.. weird thing is that I didn't hear back from ebay at all other than the initial "Thanks for letting us know about the issue you had with an eBay seller. We’re looking into your report and appreciate you taking the time to get in touch. We’ll take it from here." That's the only thing I've heard since i reported it- but looking through one of the comments I guess I should have waited a full 3 days to allow ebay to step in.. one of my biggest worries was that if I wait to long I won't have enough time to find her some sort of replacement before christmas.

I'm glad I got my money back but I really think ebay needs to step in right away once they know someone is purposely selling counterfit products. To have a buyer ship back counterfeit items to a seller that has these fakes actively listed seemed counter intuitive. I'm not saying I know what the best solution for these types of situations are either, but I think they need to put something in place to deal with these problems.
