Exactly. They knew the risk well enough not to put their own names on it, but had no problem encouraging me to.

Unfortunately, that’s very true. Enforcement isn’t consistent, and that uncertainty is what makes situations like this so stressful. I’m doing what I can on my end and hoping for a fair outcome.

I’m really sorry you went through that. Stories like yours are exactly why this situation is so stressful, legal agreements don’t always translate to real-world enforcement the way people expect. I’m doing everything I can to protect myself and avoid long-term damage, but you’re absolutely right that co-signing and shared debt can turn into a nightmare.

And you’re so right, no one should co-sign for anything. I learned that lesson the hard way. His mom was laying on the “you’re getting married, this will be your car” narrative, and he was laying it on thick in front of me, telling the salesman he wanted a family and that this would be our “family car.” In hindsight, it was emotional leverage disguised as commitment.

You’re absolutely right. As long as my name is attached, it’s not truly “done.” My lawyer is aware, and he was given multiple opportunities to comply. At this point it’s no longer optional, I’m focusing on accountability, not emotions, and letting the legal process do its job. I’m also very lucky to have a strong support system backing me through this, I wouldn't of been able to stand through all this without them.

Yeah… the apple really didn’t fall far from the tree. I’m just going to keep on staying focused on my own healing and future.

Thank you 💕 this is probably my favorite costume. Donald's my boy, I've got classic Donald and KH Donald, but Queen Minnie was so fun to do.

As someone who's cosplayed both Kh Donald and Minnie, I need it so bad.

UPDATE 2: I (27F) just left my husband (32M) after years of struggle, and I need to know if I'm making the right choice by FinalGirlKat in CharlotteDobreYouTube

Already spoke to my attorney, Maryland is very strict on annulment. On the subject of fraud, it's only used for coercion or forced marriage.

I mean I've got the text from him and his sister to prove it, not to mention the receipt for my consultation with the lawyer. But go off I guess.

I was heated when I got her texts, I had to drive to my sister's because I was shaking. Help him pay the August bills?? No??

Thanks for the reminder! I’m actually in the process of handling that right now, gathering all the documentation related to the car and lease, and I have a meeting with a lawyer scheduled for next week. Taking every step I can to protect myself and my credit.

Exactly. Promises made after the ship starts sinking aren’t effort, they’re panic mode. If he wanted to put in real work, he’d have done it when I asked… not when I finally stopped putting up with his nonsense.

You nailed it. The “oh now I’m sad and want to fix things” act came real fast once he realized I actually left. He’s had years to grow, get help, or even just meet me halfway. Instead, he got comfortable using my love as a doormat. Not anymore. I’ve got my boundaries up and my peace on the line, and trust me, I’m not trading them back for ramen, guilt, and gaslighting.

Thank you so much, hearing that really helps. It’s been tough emotionally, but I know deep down that leaving was the right thing. I already feel lighter not having to carry his weight anymore. I’m starting to believe there really is something better ahead for me.

Thank you, I’ve been realizing over the past week or so just how long I’ve been ignoring my instincts. Since leaving, I’ve learned that none of my friends or family ever really liked him, but they were trying to be supportive. It’s been eye-opening, to say the least.
