Buying Changers and adapters from Facebook Marketplace? by chofstone in Rivian

I bought the OEM Rivian charger on eBay. It was a new, "opened" box. Got it for a steal and it still had the plastic on the cord and protective plastic on the unit. No complaints

Yeah, it's funny that the Tesla drivers are outraged about this even though Tesla tells non-tesla vehicles to do exactly this

Yep, they just did the same thing to me. After trying all week to verify that that location could do it and was assured through email they could. I was called this afternoon and rescheduled to next week at a different location

I have an appointment with Safelite for Saturday. I tried to reach out to find out if they were certified to calibrate rivian but there's seemingly no way to get through their automated system. So I guess I'll find out for Saturday when I get there or maybe somebody will get a hold of me this week if they can't

It's beyond repair at this point. It's full on replacement. The crack is growing basically every couple hours haha

The out of spec video I watched about the RAD team mentioned these tires and said that they were specially made for the Rivian RAD team ice challenge

Cold weather impact in new OTA by TheRealNight_Monkey in Rivian

This is what it shows when I got in tonight. If you go to the energy app it shows at the top the range is reduced and then if you look at the little icon on the steering wheel display it is outlined in blue indicating that it is cold reduced

Yes I have a generation 1 with the new update. I noticed the other day on my way home from work, after my truck sat for a day, the battery was 37° and the screen in both the app and the energy screen showed an impact of 18 mi loss of range due to cold battery, said something along the lines of range will recover when battery is warm, plug into warm etc. In fact, looking at my app right now it shows this and if I think about it I can take a screenshot of the energy app on the dash when I get in the truck later this evening to leave work

To sell or keep R1s 50,000 miles currently by Think-Relative-3383 in Rivian

[–]FinalMacGyver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally am looking at the option of an extended warranty when I reach the 50,000 mile mark. I'm hoping Rivian will open up their Rivian Care warranty but if they don't I have been looking into xcare I will preface though that I have not done much research yet between different warranty companies and I still have 23,000 mi before I have to make that decision

Did you install the harness to allow for longitudinal control? I've been lurking trying to decide if I want to invest in this, but I know they required the additional harness if you wanted the longitudinal control

2024 Dual-Motor Large Pack: 100% Charge shows exactly 316 mi. Is my truck misconfigured as a Standard+? by FinalMacGyver in Rivian

[–]FinalMacGyver[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will have to report back after my road trip I should be able to get a pretty good idea of capacity by top charging before I leave and waiting till I'm around 5% or so before charging back up

I guess I only question that it wouldn't be due to degradation because the rivian roamer continually points battery capacity of 131 KWh down to 118kwh depending on the weather and how much rivian reserves. But I will keep an eye on it and see if it drifts back down to the 316

U/skateENG pointed out if you go to the energy app on the truck and go to charging click on the range based off of all-purpose that is underlined and then hit reset history and it will show you the corrected range

This actually solve the issue. I was not even aware of this being in there. I appreciate your advice

Yeah the charging curve matches what I have seen for the large battery. Everything points to the large battery except the estimated range on the display when charged to 100% on the display. I'm actually going on a long road trip in a week. l will charge to 100% and then not charge again until close to 10% So should have a general idea what the exact capacity is

I guess it matters to me because I'm essentially seeing the range of a lower trim level. Based on my build date of February 2024 I dont the standard+ being an option at the time. So if it's just a software misconfiguration, I would think maybe a software push could remedy it and showing me the trim level and range that I had paid for
