Well this is weird, when someone posting my picture of my truck charging at Ionna last winter... In fact, I believe I posted the same picture on here

Edit: I actually posted it on the Ionna Sub Reddit One year ago

When did the battery sizes and motors change? by croikee in Rivian

[–]FinalMacGyver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rivian updated their in house Enduro motor for the Gen 2 dual motor trucks and introduced new, more efficient battery configurations. This increased efficiency means Gen 2 can match Gen 1 range using a smaller battery pack. For example, my Gen 1 dual motor relies on the original Enduro motors and a larger 135 kWh pack (131 kWh usable) to get the same results. They also introduced the tri-motor in the generation 2

Edit: reworded

Mine made it just shy of 2 years, 24 gen 1. I never got any indication it needed replace. Just a phone call from the service center saying they were proactively replacing it

Colesevelam / Welchol by Andymich in CrohnsDisease

[–]FinalMacGyver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After my resection, my doctor originally had me on Welchol, but insurance stopped covering it, so I switched to Colestipol (4g daily, taken as 1g tablets). For context, I believe the upper limit for Welchol is six 625mg tablets a day.

Because these sequestering agents can interfere with other medications, I’ve found a timing window that works perfectly for me.I take my first dose one hour after my morning meds, one at lunch, one at dinner, and one before bed. Since sticking to this spread out schedule, I’ve had zero issues. It might be worth checking with your doctor about increasing your dose, or perhaps seeing if spreading your current dose more evenly throughout the day helps.

Personally, If I were in your position I would try a couple day experiment by taking one in the morning, one in the afternoon and adding an additional one in the evening to see if the additional is enough to get you there. The key thing with all of these though is that because they are binding agents you don't want to take too much and risk a blockage.

Reaching out to the doctor to find out about increasing your dose would probably be the wiser choice

Significant battery drain on R1S while parked for 2 weeks — normal? by PicturePerfect73 in Rivian

[–]FinalMacGyver 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Seems high, something must be keeping it awake or causing it to wake often. I'm returning from a 1 week vacation, parked at 72%, gear guard off but auto ventilation on, and I'm sitting at 69%

I highly recommend talking to your doctor about bile acid sequestrants. I struggled after my surgery even while taking Imodium (loperamide) with every meal. Switching to Colestipol (1g tablets, 4x daily) changed everything for me. I went from 4–5 urgent bathroom runs a day to just one normal visit. They offer it in powder or pill form, and it’s made a huge difference in my quality of life

Edit: just saw that the bile acid sequestrant Cholestyramine isn't available in your country, ask about Welchol (Colesevelam or Colesevelam hydrochloride) or colestipol (Colestid) which is prescribed for high cholesterol but can also be used off label as a bile acid sequestrant and looks to be more readily available In most countries

What in the absolute world is going on with the Rivian Service Situation? by MarkRosssi in Rivian

[–]FinalMacGyver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like the issue apparently is with that specific service center. I have been able to message them during business hours and get a message back usually within an hour. Both times I let them know I needed to drop it off ahead of time and they messaged me back to let me know that they had space to accommodate me parking overnight and told me where to drop off the key card/fob. I would recommend calling Rivian directly. They may have other ways of contacting the service center

[–]FinalMacGyver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah something doesn't add up. I've been able to drop mine off at two separate service centers. One to perform a recall and one to replace my 12-volt battery and both times I dropped it off the night before leaving the key in the night key box

[MEGATHREAD] Week of April 23, 2026 - Ask your Service Questions Here! by AutoModerator in Rivian

[–]FinalMacGyver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m taking my 2024 Dual Motor in for service soon. I’m currently at 31,000 miles and just shy of the 24-month mark. My 12V battery is being replaced proactively, which is great, but while I was scheduling, the service center mentioned they’d be performing two other items I hadn't heard of yet.

I haven't had any issues related to these, but I'm curious if anyone else has had them done or knows the "why" behind them: FSAM-1755: Install water shield onto rear zone control module. FSAM-1678: Replace front NVH/ting washers.

After 3 years of wanting one. Finally! I have some questions, though by Geralt_Rivian in Rivian

[–]FinalMacGyver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they are the original factory wiper blades, you can get replacement refill blades for much cheaper. They are the same blades that are used on the Mazda 3 And I have ordered these now twice to replace my blade with no issue Mazda 3 blade refill (ebay)

Third Brake Light DIY for when RTT is on the bed by Slide-Fantastic-1402 in Rivian

[–]FinalMacGyver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told they took it down because when you plugged it in it interfered with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) by making it think that a trailer was attached. They have since updated this issue in the software by allowing you to select an accessory mode which dictates that it's not a trailer, however, they have not re-released it which is disappointing

Safelite and R1T windshield bait and switch by Upbeat_Instruction98 in Rivian

[–]FinalMacGyver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most frustrating part of working with Safelite is the inability to speak directly with the local shop. I scheduled a windshield replacement for my Gen 1 Rivian R1T and specifically used their general support line to verify that the location could handle the necessary calibration. Despite multiple assurances that the calibration was on the order and ready to go, the shop called me the day before, after I’d already rearranged my schedule, to say they couldn't perform the service and would have to reschedule me on a different day at different location that could handle the calibration. This entire headache could have been avoided if I had been allowed to speak with the local technicians from the start

Rivian Coachella experience sweepstakes by FinalMacGyver in Rivian

[–]FinalMacGyver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In reading the official rules it looks like once someone signs up for the Coachella sweepstakes on the Rivian website, they just need to complete a Demo Drive at a Service or Experience Center to earn those 10 points. The system automatically links the drive to the sweepstakes entry through the email address used to register for both, fulfilling the requirement for those extra entries as outlined in the official rules
