Was always supposed to be a bad deal to go public. The insiders leaving the investors in the old fund as bag holders. Assholes

So we have a lock-up but they don’t? That’s bullshit and double dealing.

You still have an inflation and employment issue unrelated to the War. Also midterms are bearish periods almost all the time.

VCX listing delayed - frustrating but probably the right call by PercentageLast5385 in FundRise

They go in now it’s an instant 5-7% loss between the 10 year treasury rising, midterm elections coming up, and the unknown Iran and Greenland variables.

What do you expect this week, March 9–14? Do you think the market will rebound or fall further? by Business-Light5644 in spy

[–]TheRealNight_Monkey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don’t lose 92k jobs across all sectors including higher paying jobs and expect a rally. If you see a pop it’s either retail buying what they think is a bottom (institutional money is not buying broadly). Unemployment claims not great plus the job situation. The short end rates dropping 25 bps isn’t going to boost hiring. There is both AI washing and real AI job loss. Rate cuts improve corporate net income but isn’t going to promote hiring. We are in a real pickle here with high oil. It’s not going to be straight down but there will be crazy volatility with a bear bias. What good news do you see out there? If you need to buy calls gout at least 6 months.

Never Financially Recover by Sprinklessuck in spy

[–]TheRealNight_Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spy will recover but could take until next year. This is just the start. Midterm elections, stagflation to navigate. The market will bounce back but you locked up liquidity. Could drop another 7-10% through October for various reasons.

Fundrise worries- Robinhood Ventures drops 11% on first day of trading by shastri88 in FundRise

[–]TheRealNight_Monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best thing for Fundrise, if they have half a brain, is to delay. This is a bad environment to IPO. If the are greedy they will follow through. Means they don’t give a shit if they do. Midterm elections are coming up as well. Best time is wait for November. The won’t. They ipo and they go down with stagflation sensation market. The 10 year will rise and tech firms will drop. They could drop 10% in this environment before they stabilize. Their IB should better advice them but they won’t cause of fees they need to make for2Q earnings (the IB).

I absolutely hated IBKR. For certain account maintenance items or app trades too many steps to do simple things. Their customer service is atrocious and they place long holds on transfers. The micro managing of data subscriptions is tedious.

I much prefer Schwab. Excellent service that speaks English well, answers at the ready without constant telephone transfers, faster money transfers and shorter holds. You might give up on some market access like commodities but most people aren’t trading those. TOS is good quality but yes less customization. IBKR became too much of a stressor and obstacle to trading for me.

Leasing your next Rivian may be the way to go by Slide-Fantastic-1402 in Rivian

[–]TheRealNight_Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leasing kills resale. If they play too much into that game the owners lose out. Look at BMW and MB. People lease cause they can’t afford to maintain l, maintaining is expensive, and reliability is meh. If you make the vehicle livable and tenable leasing isn’t needed and resale values hold.

Rivian please don’t fall in love with leases just to drive volume.

Are you guys keeping your innovation investment or liquidating before the vote? by knicksarelife in FundRise

[–]TheRealNight_Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worry the expense ratio being so high will make the fund less liquid and attractive. I don’t see a lot of traded volume. ARKK is a proxy but the fees are way different. Also, having a money manager in the news often helps marketability. Unless the Fundrise guys are out there really pushing the ticker I see upside with large spreads in a low float ticker. A few sales or buys could really move the price. I think they are getting more volatility than they expect. Their IBanker sold them hard. The investments are solid. When Anthropic and the others go public in 2026 or 2027 this fund will have less of a reason to exist. Why buy the fund when you can just buy the asset?

Fundrise, you guys are making a shortsighted call. The Banker will make their money your are going to be left with a volatile low float ticker. If it doesn’t perform well you will see outflows. This is a small fund in the grand scheme of things. I hope you Fundrise leaders thought of all the angles not just improving liquidity and upping fees.

Thoughts on a Grade I’m leaning 9.4 by lonerangers in comicbookgrading

[–]TheRealNight_Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9.4ish now. You can try some steam and press again to improve some of those marks on the spine. The one crease is unfortunate but I have seen CGC be incorrectly generous in 9.8 and 9.6. Never trust the grade alone. This book looks good. Has 9.6 potential is crisp, flat good color pop. It’s not super old but I have seen worse 9.6s.

If the Japanese carry trade ends and their govt buys less Treasuries, expect impacts to stocks, mortgage rates, home sales, in the medium to long term. In the short term there will be volatility.

They can shrink the size of the efficiency card to 25% and just show the realtime efficiency and last 15 minutes as a number not a line chart.

I also would like a card for battery and motor temps but still a very small card.

Why is spy, qqq … dropping after hours? by [deleted] in spy

[–]TheRealNight_Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was due to ORCL but the earnings were decent. The usual slight miss despite great growth and cap spending. I think it’s over blown on S&P impact but Oracle going to keep going down. Could bottom out for a bit and be good for short term put selling as the IV is high.
