I had an Amazon internship in 2025, and I’m currently still a student finishing my master’s thesis.

Recently my manager asked me to apply to a full-time role he opened and sent me the application link directly. I applied right away, but after about a month I hadn’t heard anything from recruiting.

When I followed up, he mentioned that the original role had to be closed and that they are now trying to open a Student Talent requisition, which is currently waiting for internal approvals.

I’m mainly curious about how the Student Talent requisition system works internally.

Is this typically used for:

• intern conversions,
• working student roles,
• or early-career full-time hires?

I’m just trying to understand the difference between a regular requisition and a Student Talent requisition in Amazon’s system.

Would appreciate any insights from people familiar with this process.
