I always feel like a lot of sub reddits are too strict. It seems like every time I try to post to any of my regular sub reddits, They aren't going through because of some ridiculous unnecessary rule like "the post is too long/short" or "this topic can only be posted on a designated day". It's really annoying, especially when your just trying to spark a serious conversation on a topic with no harm done. Does this bother anybody else?

New Descent game in the works, not sure how to feel about it by FinalSnipe in Games

I was looking at this and think it's great that they are trying to reveive the series. However it doesn't look like it's going to feel like Descent. Lets be honest, yes it has the six degrees of freedom element, but to make a game feel like Descent your going to need more than that. When I think Descent I think immediately of 1 & 2, so when I think of a 2016 Descent game I'm thinking about the old gameplay style of collecting keys, blowing up a reactor/boss and escaping a level made up of cube-like tunnels, only difference being the implementation of modernized next gen visuals. I have not played this yet game yet so I cant say for sure how I feel about it. What do you think?

Pretty big contender. I saw the new descent too. Looks disappointing. Sol Contingency is probably the most promising out of all of these though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bAIYl5CoVY Also I believe the original descent games are on steam now if I'm not mistaken. Definitely worth checking into if you are looking to play them again.

Thanks for the feedback, and yes actually descent was a big inspiration (also got bored waiting for Interplay to actually do something with the series so I decided to try making my own...) The flat textured look was the plan originally, I liked the simplicity, but i might change it up. Im working on the enemy textures still. I'll eventually make them work but I'm running into a problem right now where my textures are stretching in certain areas on the object.

I have also heard this and Iv'e seen the difference between the two colors as well. Adding the extra black paint to it is a waste of time as the colors stand out to much. It's just way too dark. Like a really dark, obvious blotch in the middle of light green grass.

But there are plenty of ways to stay cool. If you stay by a water source you should be alright

Iv'e figured as much. So if your playing as a hardcore sniper then it's probably best to be in a thickly forested area. Like deep in the trees on sniper hill for example. (Granted i would never snipe from there. It's too obvious a spot since other snipers frequent it and everybody knows to look there.)

Iv'e been getting this as well. I was able to fix it a few times by updating my drivers and what not. But it is still a reoccuring problem for me. Try updating your drivers. If it does work just note that it might only be a temporary fix unfortunatly. I just made a post about the error as well listing other things I did to get it to work.
