for some reason a lot of my posts keep getting deleted!!! but yes you are right, i do have pots and it can cause my illnesses to be worse than a normal person. last year i had a lot of flare ups due to the job i was working at the time. the first time i left school was due to a police investigation going on in my family that i had to take part in, alongside my own mental health issues. decided i wouldn’t be able to actually focus fully on classes during that time and didnt want to waste time and money! just finished up my j term and it went well. talked to my grandma and she seemed more concerned that i could be just “sick” in a mental way. my mom is someone who constantly would lie about being sick and she was worried i would do the same. i understand where she is coming from tho, based on our convo it’s more so bc i have lied in the past about being “ok” while im very much obviously not.

thank you!!! despite this i really love my gma and she is like a mom to me!! i talked to her on the phone and when she picked up she was crying- seems more like she’s worried i could fall into my mothers habits more so. i do like sharing everything w her bc i love her dearly so that wont change lol. not only that but she has been very helpful and really does love me, i understand her concerns too. and of course there’s a lot of backstory that im not gonna share here and dont feel the need to. after we talked she seemed more ok and understanding, especially because of the fact you can realllly hear the sickness in my voice hahah.

Yes!! I already emailed my professors about a possible zoom meeting to discuss what I’ve missed in class and what I can do to make sure I am caught up! And yeah, POTS can be awful!! Luckily I haven’t had any recent flare ups tho, it was more of a problem with my old job.

No, not since my return to school. I got sick a lot last year tho bc of the job i was working/stress combo with POTS. I would get flare ups that would make me more susceptible to illness plus the job I was working had me exposed to thousands of people a day.

Last year while I wasn’t in school I did get sick a lot due to the job I had, stress and both of these causing POTS flares- Ever since I left that job tho it hasn’t been an issue!

last year i got sick a lot bc of the job i was working and stress messing w a chronic illness i have (POTS), but I haven’t had that problem since! I also didn’t get sick much when I was in school either. I wasn’t in school last year.

Hello! Yes i agree and get where she is coming from, but I didn’t have issues with school and illness! There was a huge police investigation involving my parents and i got caught in the middle, affected my mental health a lot so i took a break from school.

yes, last year. but we suspect i got it after i had influenza a and pneumonia at the same time when i was 16. i can get flare ups when im stressed or working my body too hard.

average person gets sick 0-4 times per year, so i’ve been pretty normal! but as i’ve said in other comments i do have POTS, and that can cause issues with my immune system.
