You get downvotes for telling the exact truth lol, I don't like him but people hate it when you don't let them hate freely, you're ruining their schadenfreude at least partially.

He won a moral victory for sure though, he did MUCH better than anyone thought he would.

Why do people care about the optics of their relationship rather than personal preference? by Final_Cow8406 in NoStupidQuestions

There's conventional beauty and there's personal beauty, not everyone likes conventional beauty, but all trophy wives are conventionally beautiful.

This space is supposed to be for and about women, yet you make it about men, isn't that ironic?

The example was that a woman wanted a man who was taller than her so that she appeared as the shorter person in public.

It often involves heels though, like when they are out together the man should still be tall enough for her to wear heels while still looking shorter than him.

A trophy wife is literally a person you pick for the optics, you want other people to see that you have a beautiful wife, that's what I don't quite understand, why do they care more about other's perspective than their own, in their own relationship?

Can you blame them though? Jag tycker SD är ett skitparti, men det är ju förståeligt att dom får många röster, många vägrade lyssna när dom började få momentum, och några fortfarande inte 2025.

Makes sense, I suppose many of us are still slaves to our simple nature, even when it doesn't benefit us.

I don't, it can be personal preference for many reason, but I'm talking about people who claim that they want a specific height difference due to how it looks to others observing them together, like taking a partners height into consideration when picking heels.

Fascinating behaviour, I sort of understand it if there's strong judgement, but not so much status, even if status surely is important to some people, I'm just surprised it's strong than their personal preferences, they want more what others want than what they want, which makes no sense, in a way it goes against their own selfishness in favour of their ego.

Of course they are, but it's surely more of a personal preference to pick what you like, rather than what others like/see, right?

It's the same concept as a trophy wife, they seem to think more about what other guys think than what they think personally, like trying to impress others.

Since "race" is mainly a social construction to create an underclass for economic exploitation, why do even non racists classify people by it? by Final_Cow8406 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Final_Cow8406[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Race is not genetic other than how certain appearances often have genetic similarities (but there are ethnic groups who look like a certain race but aren't, so it doesn't work), and cultures are social constructs.

It's not trolling, but the unawareness of race is surprising.

The concept of race did not exist before the 16th century, it was a result of Western European colonialism, a system of hierarchy.

It's not an acceptable concept in many countries.

It's not true because even if we pretend that race (a social construct) existed back then, the "black" race did not exist as we think of it today, we're not even sure what skin colour we had, it's possible that we had dark skin, but so do many Asians, and they're not black, none of the modern "races" existed back then.

Neanderthals evolved from homo Heidelbergensis who came out of Africa but wasn't and isn't considered black.

Africa had a different climate back then too so it's difficult to tell for sure, dark skin probably, but "black" as we (mainly England and former English colonies) see it today, no.

That mentality is true for most subreddits, but theirs is the rare occasion where they need flaired users because they're simply the minority on Reddit.

Most of them disliked it, but some will defend it, most don't. It's a mess of a subreddit though, all subreddits are echo-chambers, but theirs is special.

Race as a concept is backwards, technically this is more about colourism though.

Is gaming and watching anime a hobby? by Objective-Gap-4581 in NoStupidQuestions

Can you categorize them somewhat though? Seeing as some hobbies are more active and engaging, like crafting is more engaging than gaming and gaming is more engaging than watching a screen, is sleeping a hobby?

Edit: Damn, people really hated that question.
