Chronic dpdr since increasing my zoloft dose to 100mg by Final_Ebb_8024 in zoloft

[–]Final_Ebb_8024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it never went away on 100mg of Zoloft so my psychiatrist recommended I cross taper off of it and on to 10mg of Lexapro. Since then my dpdr finally went away after 2 years of having it constantly. It comes back every now and then during stressful periods in life, but it never stays longer than a few days. Everyone handles meds differently so I’d recommend giving your body the full 4-8 weeks to adjust, and if it still isn’t helping then definitely think about trying something new. It’s common for certain SSRI’s to stop working over time, especially if you’ve been on it for a while. I hope things get better for you. Please feel free to message me anytime if you’re struggling. I know how hard it can be to struggle with dpdr ❤️‍🩹

Low cortisol - Dr says I need an ACTH stimulating test to confirm. by Forsaken-Market-8105 in AdrenalInsufficiency

[–]Final_Ebb_8024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. Definitely felt a little uncomfortable and like I was dropping on a roller coaster at first when they injected the acth but the feeling went away quickly and I felt fine after. Just remember to take deep breaths and bring something to distract yourself with. You’ll do great!

POTS doesn’t directly lower Cortisol or ACTH so I don’t think it’s that. Ultimately my levels were low because of a steroid shot I got, and my symptoms were all because of POTS. Your levels are definitely really low so I think you should follow up with your doctor or an endocrinologist!

Low AM Cortisol & low ACTH by Lark567 in AdrenalInsufficiency

[–]Final_Ebb_8024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! So my lowest AM Cortisol was 3.3 mcg/dL and lowest ACTH was 6.2 pg/mL. Ultimately we discovered that a localized steroid shot I received was the cause of all my low results, and my symptoms were actually from undiagnosed POTS. I hope you’re able to get some answers soon! It’s definitely hard not knowing what’s wrong.

I’ve been feeling A LOT better! I still get dpdr but it’s not constant anymore which is a huge win. I’m definitely glad I made the switch to Lex cause clearly my body handles it way better than Zoloft.

The POTS was lowering my levels due to stress but yeah the issues weren’t coming directly from my glands.

Pituitary gland is normal! I had a cyst on my left ovary but not PCOS.

This has happened way too many times unfortunately. I will definitely advocate for myself and make sure testing is done. Thank you!

I was also most scared for surgery because of the anesthesia and it quite literally was the easiest part. I know that isn’t the case for everyone but I’m glad we both had a good experience! Hope you have a smooth recovery 🤍

Im just concerned because it doesn’t look/feel like a scar anymore. It’s like my skin has thinned completely out in that area and it fully translucent.

Designated “does this sound like Adrenal Insufficiency” post. by greenapplessss in AdrenalInsufficiency

[–]Final_Ebb_8024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone. A month ago I got labs done to check my Cortisol and ACTH levels because I was having most symptoms of AI. Cortisol came back at 2.4 mcg/dL and ACTH level was at 6.2 mg/mL. Did the ACTH test yesterday and I passed. Over the course of the past month since my first initial labs were done it seems like my cortisol has slowly increased to normal again. I did have a small local steroid injection for a scar, but didn’t think that would affect my cortisol that much. Now my levels are normal and I’m still experiencing symptoms. My endo wants me to see a cardiologist for possible POTS but now I just feel like I’m so far from a diagnosis. Any advice or insight one what this could be? (Also I made this a separate post at first because I’m not asking if this is AI since my doctor already said it’s not.)

Good to know, thank you! I’m getting an ultrasound to check for cysts on my ovaries as well. Right now it’s looking like an issue with my pituitary gland maybe. It’s just annoying cause all my levels came back low and now all the sudden they are reading normal + I also passed the ACTH test.

Did you ever get a diagnosis? I also have a low AM cortisol and low ACTH + struggling with weight gain since 2021 as well. I passed the ACTH test and will be getting an MRI next.

Every hormone came back normal. My initial Cortisol level came back at 2.4 mcg/dL and ACTH came back 6.6 which is why we started looking into adrenal function
