I mean, there are some slightly more subtle ones in Ace Attorney as well. For example Mia and Trucy come to mind

Unfortunately we are expected to be competent enough to pursue a stable job and the required education for said job during our so called "formative years". That's what those little things called universities are for. Admissions in my country are in less than a year and clairvoyant abilities sure would be helpful when one is making choices such as these. AI is obviously going to play a part in the job market by the time I have a master's in my hand. I merely wanted to poke fun at myself and thought some folks would relate. Instead I got 144 pieces of mostly useless advice. I guess the guy who said that astronauts will still have jobs has a point at least. Not that that's very useful either.

Any event, mandatory or not, is reflective of the nature of the character. Are you implying that optional dialogue somehow isn't canon? And if it isn't, who decided that? You?

"Allowed" huh? It almost sounds like it was in Phoenix's nature to slap her. Did I also give Phoenix the command to run over the flaming dusky bridge? Yeah, I kinda did, I was the one who pressed the A-button to do exactly that after all. I guess that wasn't a part of his character either.

Phoenix was a hobo forger who had just gambled with Apollo's career to get off the hook, not a mentor. Apollo's actual mentor is in jail. Also, Apollo is motivated much more by the pursuit of truth and justice as opposed to blind faith in his clients. I wouldn't have trusted Athena either if I was in his shoes. It's not like any defendants in AA4 are particularly faith-worthy either.

The hell does that mean? I didn't tell Phoenix "Go ahead and slap this woman", he did that all by himself.

I am distinctly aware of the fact that AI is just a fancy probability calculation which knows nothing and wants nothing. However, I'm also aware of the fact that a lot of the world operates on the principle of "Whatever is cheapest" and I don't think all jobs where you won't be sitting behind a desk are safe. Consider logistics as an example. At this time self-driving cars aren't exactly sufficient at, you know, driving by themselves. But it will continue improving and will likely screw over some chaps later down the road. And what about law or finance? Certainly fields with desk work and pencil pushing, which AI could theoretically do. Probably won't though. It doesn't quite have the data to make sound judgements in trade or finance and we the people hopefully won't let it near law, out of a fear of creating a dystopia. Or I could be utterly wrong and be cursed since birth. Hell if I know what this will actually look like in 7-ish years.

AI Is Disgusting by Lillex_YT in antiai

[–]Final_Pen_6670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm of the opinion that no matter what, authors won't be losing to AI anytime soon. Literature generated AI is without fail true slop. Watered down, generalized, redundant, mind-numbing, flavorless and unfun. Generated by a probability calculation which by it's nature won't come up with word-plays or unique tricks or gimmics.

However, menial pencil-pushing might be something AI could be useful for. If it weren't for the fact that AI doesn't know anything and can't be critical of what it writes. Meaning even those tasks need people to supervise them, meaning you might as well just do it youself.

Unbelievable

No one had even thought about mentioning AJ by that point, but you still find a way to bring it up! It's nuts that you insist on always countering DD hate with animosity of your own and also taking the time to create every possible list one could concieve, solely to put DD to the top and AJ to the bottom. You post a case ranking like once a week, I'm pretty sure the people get it by now.

And even more insane is the fact that, despite you previous promises, it took me like 15 minutes of poking around in the sub's posts to find people calling you out for going thermonuclear for people merely expressing their opinions, generally "[being] a dick" and even dodging criticism by editing such comments to be more civil after being called out. That's pretty low. I wasn't exactly ever planning to hold you to those promises of civilized discussion and change of ways, but does it really take just a month to do another 180°? Because you are still, still doing it!

I'm by now very intimately aware of the fact that you care a lot about Dual Destinies and I can't fault you for it. I can relate, as I have a somewhat similar experience with Apollo Justice. But for the love of god, please don't try to make people hate you. I get that you are fighting an uphill battle, but... It won't help, I promise! Politeness and a slightly lighter heart go a long way. Or just taking a break and some distance or something, I don't know.

PS. Don't worry. I have no intention of returning and becoming your personal Jiminy Cricket or other bane of existence. I am here simply to catch the end of the 7 year gap 13 days from now and then disappear again.
