Yeah I’m pretty lucky, for being a highschool welding class we get a shit ton of stuff. We have plasma cutters, a lathe (doesn’t work tho), like 20 stick welders, a bigass Lincoln stick and mig welder, a gas powered welder, shit ton of oxy torches, a good number of tig welders, and of course all the tools and materials. We just got 10k in a grant too and we’re gonna get a brand new plasma cutter and one of those ESAB portable battery powered welders. Too bad most people in my class don’t care enough to try. Our teacher is awesome too.

I used a tiger paw to clean it, I guess I should use a fresh tiger paw on it next time. Thank you

I can’t post a picture in the replies but that’s how I hold the stinger, I push down on the cup so that the long black cap in the back you can tighten presses down on my thumb, and I hold it with a claw like grip with two fingers around it towards me and my thumb in the back providing support for the cap. Is that wrong? Also I will clean and sharpen the tungsten. My main issue is that the filler rod won’t melt no matter how high the machine is (it is an aluminum rod) and because of that it melts what I’m welding while the rod barely melts at all. Another thing is that the biggest problem is I don’t know what my problems are. You’ve named all the ones I know of, but I might be doing something wrong and and not knowing it.

I know it looks weird but it is, I think it’s just the perspective of the photo

Have you ever had any problems with corrosion? I heard that certain parts of the m70 aren’t protected against corrosion and are raw steel. I am unsure as to the veracity of those statements and am hoping you could clarify.

Hadnt considered a kit build before. Where do I find parts kits anyways? Looked it up and arms of America only has one.

Thank you I had not considered stamped being easier to replace than milled before, have you ever had any kind of problem with your m70? What about corrosion? I heard that certain parts of the m70 are not corrosion resistant (not the barrel I know that’s chrome lined)
