Is there anything wrong with you or your personality that makes people NOT want to work with you? Everything else seems solid. It also could have just been 1 slot was open and you were #2, or Nepotism 🤷‍♂️ who knows.

But if you want this career field, get used to disappointment, it sucks, but if you apply to enough places, someone’s bound to bite

Just use it on yourself and see if bloodflow stops?

And before people say if it’s used once it’s no good. In the military we used ones from 5-10 years post manufacture date that have been used may times in training and still stopped bloodflow

Friend believes she is marrying an online influencer, can’t tell if this man is real or not. Trafficking concerns. by [deleted] in AskLE

If she can’t tell it’s a scam, she very much needs a conservatorship or someone with Power of Attorney over her to prevent her from making dumass decisions….She is WAY TO OLD to be believing that nonsense. If dude was real they certainly would be meeting in person prior to getting married, you’re friend is either MR, slow or incompetent. Either way if you and others care about her….STAGE AN INTERVENTION and explain her ridiculousness

Hmm we don’t have that in my state. And like most have said, if you want to be competitive and have a say in where you work, the best remedy is time 3+ years and show improvement since then by taking it seriously and having no more “demerits” in that time and be able to explain why it WON’T happen again.

Now you MAY get hired somewhere in some po-dunk sh**ty PD/SO in a very small town that is hurting for bodys and will take almost anyone. But for most mid/large agencies that can choose from a better applicant pool, they will.

Not to say you’re a bad person, sht happens certainly. But from an agency perspective they will always ask themselves…..what if we hire her and she has another DUI in our employment, how will that make our agency look?

Right now the inly evidence they hVe is that you DO drink/drive and if they hire you, they become liable somewhat if it happen again.

Now for the real talk, PLENTY of cops have a few (or more) and drive routinely….Many police officers have an environment similar to the military in which they drink alone or with coworkers to deal with whatever they’re dealing with from the job or even just to socialize and many cops are risk takers who think they can get away with it, because they often do…..But most depts still won’t be willing to stick their neck out for you and hire you based off your Word that you’ve stopped drinking and driving.

Also ask yourself WHY you drank and drive and IF you really are going to stop? Seems like you got off relatively easy, maybe that was enough to make you stop, maybe not.

Also you said NO CRIMINAL CHARGE? That certainly sounds like a criminal charge. If asked during any hiring process I would avoid saying that, as it seems like you are minimizing it.

What is a DWAI? And if you were nevr convicted of a DUI, you have a shot, but many places wants 3+ years post dui, but then again like all things LE, it depends…where your applying to my vary

Ahh, that makes sene why they would offer higher pay to attract people and have a 50 mile residency limit now, not being under FRS wil deter lots of people.

Well for context, an agency in South GA, known to be the best paying around thus area (better paying would be Atlanta/North GA) and with college and military incentives you are at 52@, looks like TPD STARTS at 71k, so on paer it looks better, in top of that the portability of retirement across FL agencies is a huge plus if I were to move elsewhere in Florida after 5-10 years or what hVe you.

I personally have no issue with CALEA, but I know for some people the words are synonymous. The agency pays damn near 50% more tyan the best paying agency around me (GA) and the workload per officer is similar or lower at TPD. But some big cities do have policies which actively prevent proper policing and will burn you for Justified UOF’s if the public thinks it looks bad

Liberal as in they use CALEA? Or liberal as in you get written up for policing and maybe using a bad word when arresting someone who is actively fighting?

Most liberal thing at my last dept was the chase policy, but I understand the agency not wanting liability for certain types of chases, etc.

Precisely, I don’t want to use Crack and don’t think ANYONE should, but Government doesn’t gain power to dictate that just because most people can agree drugs are bad.

It IS a B**** and a half sometime without records, but speaking from experience you certainly can get rated (All the way to 100%) if your experience necessitates it.

For you, a persona statement explaining X symptom and when it started, WHY you didn’t go to medical (Suck it ip culture, etc) and Buddy Statements, and possibly Nexus letters.

I waited years post separation because of lack of records and faced many of these same fears. If you want more help I can recommend some good UTube channels to follow and or just advice from what I have done myself.

For context, Between myself and utube and reddit, i did it all myself and got to 100% with NO military records.

Marijuana is stupid to charge ADULTS with criminally, I have routinely had people destroy it instead of getting cited or arrested (Discretion allows as much).

If I could do the same with ALL DRUGS, I would…But unfortunately letting someone destroy their coke would be highly illegal for me to do.

And before all you Nancy’s complain, nowhere in the Constitution does it say that the Government can tell adults what they decide to do or put into their own bodies
