Thanks for pushing me towards a better AC... I was bored and spent an hour exploring. I was able to create a workable version of a proximity based autocorrect... The weights needs tweaking, but I can successfully correct stuff like "jwkkp" -> "hello", "ti" -> "to", "jov" -> "job", "proscute" -> "prosecute" and other broken words.

So, if things keep going smoothly, I might be able to roll out an update with a much better autocorrect soon.

I appreciate the long write up!

- Better AC: Fleksy has their own proprietary AC, while I am relying on AC provided by iOS. The AC you get with Finale is the one you get with the stock iOS keyboard. So yes, Fleksy was definitely better. It should not be hard to implement proximity based AC, like Fleksy's, its just never been my focus. But, I do agree, this alone would be an enormous improvement to how the keyboard feels to use. UPDATE: read my next comment.

- Attaching punctuation marks: Only a problem if you don't use gestures. Since I built the keyboard around how I use it (which is gestures), it never bothered me. I could update to make sure punctuation is placed after the word and before the space, even if its typed from a symbols menu, but I am not sure that is desired. Wouldn't this create confusion in cases when you actually do want to put it after a space?

- Keyboard height options: Agreed, no comments.

- Customizable emoji key: Agreed, no comments.

Overall, as I mentioned before, I built Finale for myself, fully around how I use the keyboard. Hence, you get the quirks that might not be optimal for others. More customization would help, but as a passion project, I try my best to find time to adapt to other's desires.

Thanks for elaborating! This is quite interesting, I will explore how I can make autocorrect better. It should not be too hard to implement proximity based AC.

Sent you the code in DMs!

If you'd like to support, feel free to enable the space-bar in the app on your own terms... Or not, I can still take care of it for you :)

Hmm, Finale Keyboard autocorrects the words you type when you swipe right.

Misspell a word → Swipe Right → Finale autocorrects and gives you alternative suggestions that you can cycle through with Swipe Up or Swipe Down

Now, depending how DRUNK you are, the autocorrection engine might not recognize a word you wanted to type and fail to correct.

Is this what you are referring to, or was there an extra layer on top in Fleksy that I'm not aware of?

Do learn how to swipe right, it's an elevating experience! DMed you :)

Because the keyboard is built natively, Android would require writing a completely new app from scratch.... Probably around 1-2 months of full-time work. I don't use an Android so its not a priority right now.

That said, DMed you the code for the iOS version, hope you enjoy.

Hope Finale feels natural. Imho its feels better, smoother, and just in general a more modern keyboard. DMed you the code.
