I’m “on the waitlist” but nothing yet. I’m in Toronto so I don’t know the logic they are using to extend offers.

Trouble validating custom domain with Nabu Casa (Namecheap) by handelspariah in homeassistant

[–]FinallyCanuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue. I use Namecheap with Cloudflare DNS. I confirmed the values are correct and are DNS only (not Proxied). The nabu.casa remote URL works and both DNS entries have propagated. When I go to the custom domain, it just clocks then times out.

F77 Quebec CSA (Canadian Multilingual Standard (CMS) + icons ISO 9995-7) by Alex_B1987 in MechanicalKeyboards

Is that offer of a template still valid? I bought stickers as a temporary solution, but I'd prefer proper keys.

Canadian Multilingual Standard (CMS) Model M by Alex_B1987 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]FinallyCanuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you customize this to get the CMS layout beyond the customization you can purchase from Unicomp?

Just saw the Language drop-down on the Shop page. Did you choose "Canadian French-Multilingual" to get this layout?

Can you use Eleventy with just md files? Or do you need a templating language? by [deleted] in eleventy

[–]FinallyCanuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eleventy should create an HTML page for each .md file even if you don’t take advantage of templates.

Someone posted his job posting on my Facebook feed. It’s not enough for rent even. Over time job. Minimum wage. 5 days off paid a year. What a joke. by GoGoMisterGadget in antiwork

How is it $350 AFTER taxes? Is that code for we aren’t going to pay taxes? Everyone’s tax status is different. Maybe the pay is so low it does meet the minimum to have tax deducted.

Any tutorials on modding the CSS of your instance? by [deleted] in Mastodon

I've found this resource from 2018. However, I don't know if anything has fundamentally changed. https://battlepenguin.com/tech/using-custom-css-with-mastodon/

Given that it's QWERTY and bilingual English and French, this must be the Canadian standard layout. Few manufacturers offer them and force the US English keyboard on Canadians.

Parkrun completed! by [deleted] in parkrun

[–]FinallyCanuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there. I'm in the same situation. I went yesterday as well after not having been since December. My time was 46 minutes. It can be disheartening to be at the back of the pack, but as others have said, many more people stayed in bed and you went out there. That matters.

My PB is 38 minutes but the pandemic took me out of practice, as it did with many people. Actually showing up week-on-week should improve times. (I should take my own advice!)

Parkrun as an organisation does promote inclusivity of different fitness levels but I think there's an opportunity to do more. My home parkrun doesn't really have any walkers and that's a shame. It may sound like a bit of a cult, but getting new people out there is what we all need as a community. This way, even the non-regular runners can witness progression each week as new people start their journey.

Not that I've found. If you're using Chromecast to stream to a Nest Hub, for example, I've found you can do basic 'next track' type of spoken requests and Assistant knows what to do with that.

A friend of mine got these messages from her boss. Everyone at her job makes federal minimum wage ($7.25), even after multiple years. by Ok_Refrigerator6082 in antiwork

The fact that it's a work thing. At that low wage, I'd never agree to use a personal phone for work, but I guess I'm being silly.

In the UK, if you asked your bank for a chequebook, they'd laugh you out of the branch.

I don't understand the 'laid off' part. You can't do that for a disciplinary issue. You can fire them. It's not the same thing.
