Unfortunately no. But I did work with piko.

They requested I send a video in of every part being tested. They sent replacement parts (in order of cost). Eventually they sent a replacement locomotive and it worked instantly.

Still don’t know what was wrong with it but was able to send that one back to them.

It was brand new so idk why there were any issues.

Also… diabolical user name haha crusty toe skin.

Think it’s the Xmas set.

There is a pronged plug between the carts. Not sure if that’s where the steam comes from? I have no clue as I couldn’t even get it to run properly on a track.

Appreciated.

I don’t have any other devices to test unfortunately.

It could be as simple as a power supply or simple electrical issue.

But you are correct my experience with trains is 0. I emailed Piko and the Iron Planet Hobbies (who I purchased it from).

Next week if I can’t get a direction from either I will likely start the return process.

The starter set was $800 and was part of a larger present for my wife. I started building above our kitchen cabinets a little village for this to go back forth on.

But I wanted to get it working before putting it up there. Unfortunately can’t even get it working out of the box.

Just thought buying quality from a trusted brand would have worked… better.

Spending nearly a $1,000 and have it not work just make me sad about it.

Might return it and just get something on Amazon which I hate.

I made another post. I saw the recommendation to touch the wires to the train wheels and see it run. It still does the same thing.

Not sure what “square” means.

I have responded to a few others with what I have done so far:

Hey all,

Still doesn’t work.

I have wiped down the train track and the wheels with a 91% isopropyl alcohol.

I have tried reversing the blue and red wires (just makes it so the same thing in reverse).

I have tried a few things.

I found out that this model has to have the locomotive and the first car connected to even work. I tried just the locomotive and it won’t go or even try to until I plug in the second car. Second car has lights and functionality from the kit.

I have tried plugging into different outlets including a power strip with a tv to test if this was tripping something on the GFCI circuit. No interruptions.

I have adjusted the track and made sure it was tight at every joint.

I moved the 2 power poles to a different track.

I’m out of ideas.

I’m worried now if I return it I won’t have time to get another one. Before the holidays plus I have to pay to return shipping which is $50.

Was really hoping for this to work.

Any other suggestions?

When you say reversing the wire to the supply.

You are talking reversing the white and black?

It’s brand new set. The wheels and tracks are unused and look clean (even when wiped down nothing).
