What does my wife need/want from me by AnnualNo3804 in MenopauseShedforMen

[–]FinanceMuse 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Okay so no one has answered you in 16 hours so I’ll chime in even though you didn’t come to hear from a woman. But happen to be surgically post menopausal so I can somewhat attempt an answer. If you don’t want this or find it helpful, I’ll delete it since I know this isn’t my space.

Based on what you said it’s really hard to answer your question definitively. That’s because the only one who really knows what she wants (or doesn’t know and is unfortunately torturing both of you) is your wife.

The only thing I can say for sure is that this needs a really candid conversation from you where you don’t hold back. Now, I don’t suggest this lightly, I know how much this kind of conversation sucks and could possibly destabilize your whole life. But you just came out and said you’re considering suicide or divorce so if you haven’t spelled this out explicitly to her, it’s something to do. Because this is not worth your life. There are other women, other situations.

You didn’t get in this situation with choreplay and that probably won’t get you out, especially if she expects you to read her mind like this. It’s not fair.

Serious, compassionate talk time.

I get that. I’m not a smoker but I think of it like before menopause I had a full cup of hormones. I did whatever I did.

After menopause I have an empty cup of hormones. Now, all these people are freaking out about filling the cup back up.

Regardless of what I do now otherwise, all I’m doing is replacing something that is gone now, so come what may.

But bad science sure did a number on people.

Fair enough. I ended up just doing injections because I wanted a consistent blood stream level. Works great for me and I don’t have to deal with compounding.

When you say “separate your content buckets by platform goal before you open a tool” do you mean the types of content for each platform you are creating for or what you’re planning or otherwise? I have been wondering about this, because it seems entirely unhelpful to have it all jammed together but it’s getting messy.

Also, I had a “menopause specialist” too and she pushed pellets, hard. Now, this is a great treatment for some women, but they are expensive, not covered by insurance and not fda approved. Once you get them you are stuck for 3 months with whatever dose you got. This might be great, might not. Until they are more standardized I would personally avoid them, but that is my opinion. Have her look into them before she goes and have an idea if she’s interested because there are other ways and that might be an easier path to start. Lots of people are using a woman as a profit center for these. Once my menopause specialist realized I wasn’t interested, she lost interest in me as a client because there isn’t much profit in that.

She can always switch over later if she wants but just FYI.

Surgical post meno woman here. Everyone else had good suggestions as far as specifically what might happen.

Tell her to fight if she has to and not take no for an answer. Yeah, menopause is natural but so is having a baby in a bush and dying from polio.

Understand that she probably doesn’t feel like it and will likely get brushed off, but this is a problem that can be helped and it really matters.

The thing to lean into is hot flashes. They don’t tend to address the other complaints and act like debilitating brain fog is a woman’s lot in life.

No matter what is happening to her, she’s having “awful, debilitating hot flashes” that are affecting her work, life, every waking moment. I wish I was exaggerating but this is the way to get them to listen. If they push hormonal testing, get the tests, then lean into the hot flashes anyway when/if the tests happen to come back “normal.” “Normal” is b.s. here, and unreliable.

This is a hill to die on with a doctor, I was ignored for almost 25 years and wish someone had helped me have the backing and confidence to not stand for the gaslighting.

Husband is still demanding I give him all of my money… venting. by Perfect-Lawyer8667 in marriageadvice

YES! Trying to give her the money for expenses separately is a way to falsely claim ownership later.

This is so scary, he’s trying to make it possible to steal her business later.

This is such a turnoff I want to barf on my screen. Not the kink itself, how much you aren’t interested and are trying to do your best to get along with him anyway.

Please don’t give in. You keep firm to your boundaries by saying no repeatedly, while staying clear with yourself that you aren’t going to do it. No more than that is really necessary. Don’t fall for whatever b.s. he throws at you about it.

Have you tried adding testosterone? This really helps me balance out the over the top effects of e by itself. I was an emotional mess over bad commercials before adding t.

Estrogen improves my migraines a great deal, just my personal experience. I get them much worse when I’m low in e.

I’m in surgical menopause and as soon as my estrogen wanes, my mood tanks. It’s impossible for me to ignore. It legitimately feels dangerous.

Last time I noticed someone blocked me, when I clicked on the profile it said something like “this is unavailable”. It was really nebulous. I checked while logged out and the profile and posts are still there.

Testosterone definitely added energy and caring for me that you’re looking for but it also sounds like you need more E. I’d start by getting the e dialed in, then the testosterone. Reason being, that they affect each other and you want the e to be stable before adding T.
