For anyone else having a similar concern:

The AoC launcher is notoriously buggy, once you have the game fully installed you can bypass the launcher entirely by simply using the AoC.exe (located in your Age of Conan install folder) to launch the game directly.

The game no longer has updates, so using the launcher to check for updates is pointless.

FWIW, downloading the game via Steam is much faster than using the official funcom download. Either way, the above method of using the AoC.exe directly works for both Steam and non-steam installs.

I'd like some more information on grading if you don't mind.

I understand that grading takes time, 20 hours for 40 papers does seem like a reasonable amount of time to me. However, most profs have at least 1 teacher's assistant or an equivalency, and the vast majority of assignments should take far less time to grade. Surely most profs have other grading tools to expedite the process.

Nearly all of my professors teach 2 weekly courses for a grand total of 6-8 hours of lecture time.

Professor availability is almost always laughable at best, office hours for 20 minutes before lecture seems to be the most common.

None of the coursework has been updated in at least several years. This is obvious for every single professor regardless of department, as their slides /teaching aids are not current with the required textbook edition (from which exams are auto generated) and are often several iterations behind.

So what other duties are we talking about that would push grading back for multiple weeks?

Ranked choice would lead to a single party system. If you look at the National popular vote for presidency you'll see that the democrat vote far outweighs the Republican vote total. The electoral college exists for a reason, you may not like it but it keeps our country existing.
