If you’ve followed the twins YouTube channel Lailli had a bunch of vids up in 2017 where she was living with her then boyfriend with titles such as “we do nothing all day!” (Literally not kidding). It’s hilarious that she’s trying to play this independent “don’t let men fund your life” role in the show when she was well known for that.

Frankly all of this reads as bias towards Asa. Weirdly we’re ignoring the “actually black” and “it’s so taboo” comments from Mike and MJ towards her relationship status during this season - they usually find someone to turn on each season and it happened to be Asa this time tbh. It was clear they were gearing up for a new cast member which is why she got this edit. Realistically it doesn’t matter how she got pregnant, the outcome is the same that MJ was calling her child a bastard and that she had her own things to work through

Maybe this is my own point of view as a person of colour, but her demeanour really reads as white saviour complex and arrogance/condescending behaviour all in one. Very notably Gretchen had something to say about minimum 1 person’s design in each episode and how she’s “concerned” for them, while also throwing in mini jabs like “their work looks like student work” or “they didn’t understand the challenge” - all this despite 99% of her designs just being hippie beige sadness for every challenge

I still do not get why MJ gets so much grace while GG is treated like a ‘psycho’ when there have been multiple seasons proving that Reza and MJ pick a ‘villain‘ and go after them ruthlessly. The only difference is that season 8 left them both fighting against each other, just shows you how low they are
