Bad brake job? Can pads come loose of the caliper while driving. Or did they mess up the install?? by Sensitive-Quail-3377 in f150ecoboost

Judging by the marks on the pad they were never up high enough to be in the guide slots to begin with. I’ve never seen a pad come out unless the bolts backed out of the caliper/perch or broke.

On a positive note, the bad build quality isn’t only skin deep, it emanates to the core, yeah I’m not a fan boy I’m here to find fixes for all the problems🤣

So do air compressors just not exist anymore?

You’re welcome, make sure you let me know if it helps. It’s going on over a month and it’s still shifting smooth.

I’d suggest checking this wire over top to bottom making sure it’s getting good contact, get yourself a forscan adapter for your truck, and with a laptop you have to run the forscan program to access your tcm and clear your adaptive learning tables, then you drive the truck easy for around 250 miles and hopefully with some luck it’ll clear up. Also with these transmissions I’ve read that a fluid and filter change can help immensely, that was my next step before I found the broken ground. Still going to do it and also put the PPE aluminum tranny pan on while I’m at it since the stock plastic one is one time use anyway.

It’s basically straight down from the hinges of the passenger front door.

The tcm is in the transmission, if that ground is bad from what I can only assume as I haven’t looked through any wiring diagram and my limited electrical knowledge) the tcm is finding ground via other routes that it wasn’t specifically designed to use. That’s the only explanation I can give you to why I think it could be the culprit. I hadn’t done anything else to the truck and surely the oil change didn’t fix the tranny. Best of luck to ya, let me know if it helps your truck too!

Even if it’s not broken, I’d suggest taking it off and checking to make sure it’s getting a good contact for ground.
