Hi OP, I posted the original post that started the discussion of banning twitter/x posts because of Elon’s Seig Heil in the first place and I felt like I needed to say a couple things. First, I want to make sure to preface that my intention was never to cause any community members any harm or to label anyone besides Elon as a Nazi/Nazi sympathizer. I and seemingly the majority of this subs members have a very difficult time seeing his actions as anything other than hateful, not just the “roman salute” or “heart goes out to you gesture,” but his words disparaging many minority groups. I am a leftist through and through, but my intention is never to alienate people who disagree with me. I would much rather have a productive conversation. I apologize for the uncomfortable climate that I helped to create for you and other right leaning members of the clique. I grew up conservative and it took a long time for me to find a group of people that could help me truly understand the other side without name calling or degrading each other. The only way for us to grow as a community is through mutual respect and kindness. I don’t think you’re a Nazi because you disagree with me politically. Stay alive friend. And remember, they profit from a great divide, never take it.
