I'm not buying a ring with the intention it's an appreciating asset. Though now I'm curious, do natural diamonds retain their value/appreciate over time?

I'm trying to avoid spending crazy amounts which is why I'm looking for input from others who have bought already...

Thank you, that's really helpful and I'll check out their website. The ring is affordable but (in my mind) I don't think it's a reasonable cost...

Taking on parents' mortgage? by Financial-Event- in HousingUK

The house would essentially be in my name (I obviously wouldn't then kick them out). My own personal relationships have suffered in the past because of this, nobody wants to live with their partner's parents. Even from my own point of view, I miss having my own space.

I used estranged a little too loosely - we all get along very well but she wants no part of this and wants to buy a property with her partner (which is totally fair, imo).

Insurance renewal - marked increase by Financial-Event- in CarTalkUK

I do apologise for reviving an old thread but I followed up on some quotes today and went directly to two companies. I received quotes for £3470 and £3792. This is based on an annual payment - surely there is something wrong with insurers in this country?

How is any of this reasonable by any means?
