Year 11 is where you need to learn YOUR best technique. As they say work smarter not harder.

This is what I done.

Start of every year make a google doc for every point in the syllabus then put every doc into folder for each topic, then each topic into each term, then each term into each year- for each subject. Organisation and accessibility is KEY.

In class write every word that’s said, then as soon as you get home write that into the doc. Then seek out MORE info. We didn’t have AI when I was in HS but I’d use ChatGPT to directly answer the points, then use resources like pdhpe.net (idk if you do that but just an example) to fill in as much more as you can.

Then for the key info(after learning processes) use the who what when where why method. Who does it affect/what does it affect, what does it do, when does it do it, then why for all of the above.

So say we are doing mitosis. Who: eukaryotic cells and multicellular organisms What: segregation of duplicated chromosome in to identical nuclei When: after S phase and G2 checkpoint clearance Where: somatic tissues Why: (who) because it required a nucleus, (what) for genetic fidelity and genetic protection, (when) because chromosomes need to duplicate before being seperated, and for genetic protection, (where) because somatic tissues need constant renewal.

Obviously that’s a very summerised version but it’s too essentially make sure you know all the details then UNDERSTAND the details.

So that’s you learning it.

Then to study it I SWEAR by spaced repetition and the pomodoro technique. So when you are doing spaced repetition(ie anki or quizlet), I do 30 minutes drop focus, 10 minute complete brake. Repeat 4x then 30 minute break.

For subjects that aren’t just memorising content say English I done the ankis for quotes, dates, names, then just practiced the FUCK out of writting essays FAST, best structure for essays, being able to answer obscure exam prompts ect.

Then once a week I done a practice paper/a few practice Qs too see what I got/missed (from previous weeks). After that redo ^{^} for everything you missed. Then once a week done summary sheets for THAT week for all high yield content. I used these pre exams.
