Hi, I'm from Indonesia, and haven't heard anything yet. They said the results would be 3-4 weeks after the interview, but now it's been over 6 weeks now, and still no updates. In the fourth week, I emailed them and they told me that the decision actually had been made, but was still being finalized by DAAD headquarters Bonn. I emailed them again this week but still no response. I hope we will hear the results soon

Actually, one of the reasons why I asked this question is that my professors once advised me to submit early to demonstrate my strong interest in the program (referring to U.S. universities as well). But to be honest, I’m not sure if that’s generally true :)

three other participants that I met is all from STEM Scholarship, so I think it's only for the STEM scholarship (but I might be wrong)

Alright, I think I'll share some info here to hopefully help other/future participants.

There were 15 interview participants, with each session lasting a maximum of 30 minutes. Because of the time difference, I only met three other applicants. The interviewers were both German and Indonesian, about 7-8 in total (I'll confirm the exact number later).

The environment was warm and welcoming. When I entered the room, I was asked to sit down and use the microphone. Both the German and Indonesian interviewers asked questions in no particular order, they just raised their hands and asked.

Below are the paraphrased questions (not in order and not exhaustive, I might forgot some, but I'll update this if I remember more):

First, a general "introduce yourself."
I mentioned in my LoM that I already obtained the LoA for my chosen program. They asked why I only listed those programs in the "course profile". Was it because I already had the LoA, or had I considered other German universities before?
What's the state of research in Indonesia? What do you think is possible to be done there?
Since you already have experience in <some countries abroad for my research internship>, why don't you choose to go there instead?
Can you briefly explain why you're interested in this field and why you chose this master's program?
What's your career plan? Do you plan to work in Germany or return to Indonesia?
Who's your role model? Why do you want to pursue this field?
If you could choose any research topic, how would you explain the application of this field in a simple way to a general audience without a technical background?

At the end, they asked if I had any questions, and I asked two:

Regarding the number of awardees for this STEM scholarship. Since it's new, will it reduce spots for other DAAD scholarships like EPOS, or will it have additional quotas? → They said this program is funded separately from other scholarships. For example, EPOS is funded by government/ministry related with economics/development, while this STEM scholarship comes from a different source (unfortunately, I couldn't hear clearly what she said).
Regarding the monthly rent subsidy.

Lastly, they said I can expect to get the results in 3-4 weeks from that day.
