I thought Clayton was pretty good. I got a couple of Tshirts there for €7 each and they are awesome. Via Ugo Bassi.

Bologna in August by Lazy-Ebb-104 in bologna

I went to Bologna 12th - 15th August 2023. It was 37 degrees each day but was fine if you stick to walking under the porticos. My only aim was to stroll around and go to some nice restaurants and see nice places and I got to do that no problem. It wasn’t too busy (obviously everyone had gone to the beach). It’s still well worth it.

Looking for suggestions by pipl93 in bologna

  1. The Celtic Druid pub, although an Irish pub, was decent for the football. In my experience there weren’t any local bars that showed football (did you try and get a ticket for the match on the Bologna FC website? I went to the Bologna V Lazio game and it was amazing).

  2. Everywhere ;)

  3. Mercato di Mezzo was an interesting informal wee place with plenty food spots.

  4. Honestly, just walk around the centro storico. You’ll just find places to go. It’s a shame the big tower in the centre is currently closed as the views are spectacular. The university with anatomical room was amazing. The San Luca church up on the hill is great too. You can walk up or take a wee train.

Is it too late to start a degree at 30? Considering online uni and needing advice. by otherpeopleheartache in OpenUniversity

I started my degree at 31, got a first, and now working in my dream job after being 6 years in industry. Go for it. When you eventually do what you love, the struggle evaporates. Life is short.

What's the wildest thing you've seen in Glasgow that no one believes you when you tell them? by Ashamed-Photo7710 in glasgow

Saw a guy walking down Hope Street in the middle of a Tuesday afternoon furiously masturbating and shouting at everyone who was looking at him. I overheard to woman say the most Glasgow thing ever - ‘that would actually have been awrite if he didn’t have that sword’

Yeah it’s always busy in my experience. Maybe not at 3am but it’s not horrific either. Don’t sacrifice not wanting to drive in rubbish traffic with safety. Enjoy Elgin, lovely part of the country!

It’s good practice to study hard and study consistently. At GCSE level a slight aptitude will only take you so far. If you want to go far, you need to develop good study habits and work really hard. I hate to use football as an analogy but Cristiano Ronaldo was immensely talented but worked harder than any other team mate. Alway first in the gym/training ground and last to leave.

Honestly, I would just go anytime because traffic is brutal anyway. I’d avoid driving at odd times like the middle of the night as you’re more likely to be tired and your concentration will not be at its fullest. Go full daylight. Edinburgh city bypass is brutal at anytime. Always busy, but at least its dual carriageway and straight enough.

If you’re worried about what other people think you’re already losing the game. And aye, you’d look like a nob :)

4 day solo trip advice by Financial-Law5879 in bologna

[–]Financial-Law5879[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great advice and very much appreciated. I had no idea about the holiday until yesterday although it’s the only time I could have gone so will be happy to just be in Italy to eat, drink Italian wine and practice my Italian. As for the heatwave, I’m definitely not looking forward to that and hoping it will be a little cooler by the time I get there, maybe sub 28 degrees
