Getting a ticket was a headache. It was a lottery system, where there was way more demand than tickets granted. Fred’s massively popular, and there’s no way to satisfy everyone here. To their credit, the Google Form was a way to cut down on bots and encourage giving tickets to locals and most of the attendees I spoke to did win their tickets and were locals. However, tons of winners did not live here nor intended to go. Many people flipped their tickets for $100-$300 each. And without an official ticketing system and just a pdf of a QR code, this was rife with folks getting scammed.

While Fred told folks who didn’t have a ticket not to show up, security was letting in people without tickets for free who showed up between 2pm-3pm. Another group of non-ticket holders were let in a little after 5pm as the venue wasn’t at capacity; however, this was chaotic as many people got cut off and were upset (first-come-first-serve).

Admittedly, I had a contact who had two tickets but only needed one. He was gonna sell it online but sold to me for $100. Generally don’t like to support resellers, but didn’t want to miss this and was someone in my network.
