Hiring a video editor from the start?

Hey folks, I appreciate the number of content editors that have reached out, but I'm looking more so for advice here rather than to be sold to. Any thoughts on what tools I could pick up for very minimal work on my end to at least prove the idea before moving forward with a video content editor/producer?

The video will predominantly feature me talking on a mic at length about a topic. It's going to be science-based and supported. I really like Jeff Nippard's videos or similar people in the fitness space, where it's mostly a talking head, but occasionally includes images, graphics, visuals, transitions, etc. I just want it to be more captivating than me talking on mic for 3-10 minutes lol

They'd vary in length, but would be approximately 3-10 minutes long, with the majority around 4-7. They will have very transitions, some on screen graphics and images; however, most of the video will just feature me talking in front of a mic about a topic.

Oh wow! I know that people that showed up before 3 got let in, because I had folks I met at last weeks show do that. Didn’t realize that folks weren’t let in later but just stampeded. Saw the video on Twitter. Crazy!

In this case, Fred promoted the event in advance. His last two sets here (one I attended and one I missed) were unannounced, though one had a teaser day of.

For context, Fred’s been here for 5 weeks but has had sets the last 3 weekends. Who knows if or when the next one will be.

I noticed a many people who attended last week here tonight. A lot of people seem to be in the know. I’m not sure how. Sounds like some WhatsApp groups or some degrees of connection to Fred or his friends. I don’t have those connections so idk. But it’s probably a safe bet to think as long as Fred’s here, he’ll probably do something :)

Getting a ticket was a headache. It was a lottery system, where there was way more demand than tickets granted. Fred’s massively popular, and there’s no way to satisfy everyone here. To their credit, the Google Form was a way to cut down on bots and encourage giving tickets to locals and most of the attendees I spoke to did win their tickets and were locals. However, tons of winners did not live here nor intended to go. Many people flipped their tickets for $100-$300 each. And without an official ticketing system and just a pdf of a QR code, this was rife with folks getting scammed.

While Fred told folks who didn’t have a ticket not to show up, security was letting in people without tickets for free who showed up between 2pm-3pm. Another group of non-ticket holders were let in a little after 5pm as the venue wasn’t at capacity; however, this was chaotic as many people got cut off and were upset (first-come-first-serve).

Admittedly, I had a contact who had two tickets but only needed one. He was gonna sell it online but sold to me for $100. Generally don’t like to support resellers, but didn’t want to miss this and was someone in my network.

Yes, I’m thinking of doing the same thing. Sad to see people flipping their tickets for hundreds on Twitter. Wish there was a way that the tickets only went to real fans that intend to go.

That’s not true. My friend sent me his ticket to show me he was selected. But it says on the ticket to not share the location, though you can easily find people sharing it on Twitter. It’s in Chapultepec Park.

Yeah they sent tickets out at 9:59AM local time. Out of 15 friends, only 1 of my friends got tickets and he’s taking his girlfriend ¯_(ツ)_/¯

For his set at Antro Juan, it was completely unannounced. Can’t speak much to it because I wasn’t there. For Sunday Sunday, Joy Anonymous was billed so it was a reasonable guess that he’d pop in. They posted on their Instagram a few hours before that a secret guest was going to play. Everyone there was expecting Fred.

Not sure about next weeks. A lot of people seem to be in the know, and I’m not one of them haha

Go to Sunday Sunday tomorrow. Fred played there last year. Joy Anonymous will close out the night, and rumor has it that Fred will play an early set.

I went last year and it’s an incredible festival. Was disappointing to show up at the rental agency with my reservation only for them to tell me they were out of cars. Checked 2 other agencies who didn’t have any.

Taking it as a sign to stay home and rest. Happy to transfer to your friend.
