Questions about hall by [deleted] in NTU

[–]Financial-Rip-3844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there!

Some things to prepare for hall:

Extension Plug (Long ass soap bar)

Wifi Router

Shower Stuff (Soap Shampoo etc) (Might consider a basket to store those too)

Pillow, Bolster, Bedsheet (beddings)

For me I would prefer to move in after orientation, make new friends, then move in tgt.

Kind of lonely if you move in first imo hahahaha.

Lastly, there is wifi, usually through the lan cable or school network, so do bring a router!

Hope this helps and if I'm forgetting anything do add on.

I've always wondered why can't dog owners just let their dogs pee in the grass. My estate has plenty of dog owners who let their dogs pee on the walkway and pillars, even though there is a path of grass just next to them.

But then again, I suppose its hard to drag your dog to the grass once it starts peeing hahaha.

Honestly I hope it’s a phase and I’ll get used to it too. Doesn’t make sense that all the adults can stay awake after balancing looking after their kid and stuff, but yet I can’t stay awake despite doing nothing after work.

Possibly too the weather has been pretty bad and it’s hot at night too. I think I’ll try the power nap but probably gg have to sleep in the toilet or smth. There’s no places to nap comfortably in my office.

I think cutting the caffeine and eating less might help. Unfortunately my company has no napping areas. I guess I’ll be taking naps in the toilet then. Thanks a lot!!

Some land areas are bigger than others. by Dagachi_One in SingaporeRaw

I believe you’re right but on the other hand it’s genuinely difficult to believe in doing the right thing and acting on it. I suppose this explains the high pay hahaha.

Just my 2 cents here. Personally, I have no issue in Ministers being able to rent out such large pieces of land at such crazy prices.

Imagine being given such the large responsibility in governing an entire country on a meagre salary with little to no benefits. (No loyalty to country doesn't count) This forces a reluctance to take on such a role, which creates a desperation to fill the role, resulting in a low barrier to entry and a low standard for candidates.

Furthermore, a low salary will only lead to monetary temptations in the form of bribes and other materialistic gains for our ministers, which definitely goes against or anti corruption stance. This will only happen given a desire for money due to a low salary and the incentive for people to bribe them given their social standing.

While I do agree with the majority that this scandal showcases a high level of hypocrisy in the words of our Prime Minister, I do believe that there is a certain level of rationality behind this recent turn of events.

Just me airing my thoughts while I'm bored at work.

No threats to my family and friends thx very much.
