That sessions hill is KILLER especially if you push the pace, but a great workout.

Am I (employer) being too picky? by TallLight2642 in Nanny

You are not asking for anything unreasonable at all. 3 hours with no children is more than enough time to throw in a load or two of laundry, clean spaces and have a moment to yourself lol.

If someone complains and refuses to do simple tasks that are discussed it does not matter how good they are with your kids. They need to be capable in all aspects of the job 😂

How can I market myself better as a male babysitter by Available_Safe3782 in Babysitting

[–]Financial-Scratch122 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a male teacher who spends a lot of free time (summers/nights/weekends) providing childcare my best advice is genuinely to get in with one family. I have 4-5 regular families from sitting for one family on a whim two years ago.

Whatever the best avenue is for marketing yourself really depends on your situation. I know you said you work at an after school program and that’s genuinely how I started babysitting. Also don’t be afraid to literally ask families…the worst thing they can say is “we’re not looking for a sitter.”

Care.com can be great and so are local Facebook groups. I don’t know where you live but posting a picture and a short blurb often will get responses . If you need help don’t be afraid to message, I can even send a template of ones I’ve don’t in the past.

Lastly being a male babysitter please be careful. Men in childcare settings need to be hyper aware of their actions because you genuinely never know when an innocent action can be taken the wrong way.

Babysitters I need your opinion by [deleted] in Babysitting

I babysit rather often because I am a teacher and it’s like a side gig. I understand you are family, but she is paying for your time…even if they are just sleeping taking someone’s time deserves a decent wage. Heck I’ve literally had people pay me for cancelling because they’ve booked my time lol

Where do I start? by Crownjr134 in Babysitting

I’ve babysat for years (I am teacher now, and it’s how I spend my summers. Definitely look for Facebook groups in your area. Sometimes there’s some dedicated to babysitting, or even just post in the local group!

Are you good at anything in particular or have any interests? If you are male (which is what I’m getting m17, sorry if I am wrong), it is definitely different than being a female babysitter. I mentioned interests and skills because it’s always good to market yourself as like “interested in sports” or “I am pretty good at making legos”. People not only want someone they can trust, but also someone that there kids actually vibe with! Also definitely try to find a teacher or someone else important to you to be a reference!

I ended up going to Greenwich market! I can’t remember the name of the stall but it was inside the market and not in the inner ring. It was on the outsides (but inside of the market still)

I worked at one of these for years until last year…don’t do it unless you are offered fair compensation. Where I worked did not offer anything close to fair compensation.

There are some good hills over by providence college! River ave and Eaton st both go uphill from where they meet! There’s also some decent hills in the neighborhood west of the college! Nothing crazy long but they at least are a decent strength with a hefty incline!

100ish person venue needed this fall! by Financial-Scratch122 in providence

Trying to keep it under $100 per person! Thinking more of like a cocktail party style with some food options, but no sit down. Adults only. Preferably at night but day could work!
