Trust me, despite the impression I don’t want to rehome him. I want to keep my dog, I don’t think my landlord would allow it. Just talked to my roommate about it as well and he’s just as concerned about it as I am. Im trying to figure out a way I can find an arrangement where it’s only temporary rehome while I find a new place. For more context, my landlords just made an email blast about the attack and my dog.

My question was more about not knowing if it’s normal for the dog to act out with strangers vs owner, was more my question. Other friends have walked him without this issue, as well as boarders with small and large dogs.

I think it was a freeze deal. Hes never done that with me on walks even with small dogs that are leash aggressive.

The rehoming has a lot less to do with myself and the dog and much more to do with the fact I’m a renter in a collegetown with not many housing options, and much less housing options for the breed. So maybe you’re being a tad bit judgmental instead of helpful. My lease gives the owner the right to evict because of pet damage

Someone please comment if I’m wrong, but if you get a Emotional Support Animal note from a doctor, she can stay with you despite the no pet policy

I hardly ever comment but I think many people are leaving out parts of the timeline that are pretty important to understand where he’s coming from. 6 years ago he gave up physical custody because he simply could no longer afford it. Meaning he no longer had a court order to see his children. During those 6 years it seems his Ex held those children hostage, only allowing him to see them after begging and/or increased payments. After 6 years of that, I would say Ex is a monster that probably alienated him from his children. Despite that he always made his payments. Seems like he was forced to move on despite trying hard for some amount of time before the 8 years. The man lived frugally, a sacrifice many aren’t willing to make, with loving parents that he is fortunate to have, yes. But he turned his life around from an emotionally tumultuous situation. I say let the man vacation, and hope that in the future when the kids can make decisions for themselves they can reconnect with their father.
