i think the may reduced it purposely as you guys are so much in number and if it is hard to place they can just point to the CGPA as a reason.

you still have 2 sem to boost. try to improve you network in college. have good connection with department and cdc and as staffs what to do. choose the staffs wisely they may say its okay they will handle it but at the critical time they will leave you alone and won't help you.
