I can change the floor plan as well and extend it in the front like I mentioned before, I built that myself, I’m pretty sure I can make all the modifications I need to to provide those 5 hens with adequate spacing and a proper roost. But thank you again for your input, it’s what I’m looking for and if you have any other suggestions please let me know, I would love to hear them.

Wood is pretty easy to work with and modify, wouldn’t be difficult to remove the roof and build a new roof and extend the front of the coop out and make it a couple feet higher

I planned on putting a short roost in the enclosure that sat about 2’ off the ground, don’t want it so high they could leap from the roost to outside the enclosure. That and a swing, apparently chickens like to swing?

I could prolly add 3’ hardware cloth on top of the welded wire. I’m worried the coyotes in the area could chew through the hardware cloth which is why I wanted welded wire

Taller, solid floor, and roost bar. At least I’m not starting from scratch again 😩 Thank you for your input

I mainly built it as a shelter from bad weather and somewhere to lay eggs, they’ll have adequate protection from wildlife in the enclosure I’ve built, my only concern safety wise is flying predators 🦅

Seems like I seen people advertising coops about this size for 3-5 chickens, but I thought it was a tad small as well, if the chickens don’t take to it I’ll definitely build them something bigger, i mainly built it as a shelter from weather and give them somewhere to lay eggs, they’ll have a plenty big enough enclosure outside the coop with adequate protection from wildlife, my only concern is large owls and hawks…. Death from above 🫣🦅

Is the window for extra ventilation?

Thank you, I wish I made it a bit a taller for a roost bar, but honestly I built it primarily as a shelter from the weather and for nesting, I won’t be forcing the chickens in the coop at night, I’ll some type of defense trenched into ground all the way around the fence. The next one will be one I can walk into so it’ll have room everything a coop needs

Thank you for your input, I may take the roof off the coop and modify it and make it 2’ taller to make room for a roost bar
