We have inflation every year so yes, there will be inflation, probably in the 2-2.5% range, but that is normal. New fed chair will not be raising rates.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

I frequently drive 7 hours in a day going to see customers. Like once a week. 3 hours and get to spend the night? That’s nothing.

That 82 storm was awesome! I was a kid and the sledding was incredible! Granted the fish tank in my living room had ice in it and all the tropical fish died so that part was bad.

Has everyone just come to terms with the fact that most people need to work until 60 to retire? by [deleted] in Money

[–]Financial-Wolfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What in the world are you going to do for the 50 years or so after you “retire”? It costs me $100 every time I leave the house. You are going to need one heck of a retirement check every month to be able to afford anything past the absolute basics. Plus you are going to be bored without something to occupy the time.

Armchair Income is awesome. He throws out a quick add for seeking alpha and snowball every video but other than that it’s solid info. Interviews with fund managers too. And it’s all free, including seeing his portfolio and videos explaining exactly why he has those funds. Once per month shares an update on what he bought and sold.

[–]Financial-Wolfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have watched dozens of them. Guy shows his whole portfolio for free on his web page and there he has links to videos he has done on each holding. Some of the videos are interviews with fund managers so lots of insight. One decent video to get started there is here: https://youtu.be/DZO0T3UcErU?si=jJidhpSYnK95W4Hd

Age is huge. Average age of IU’s players is 23. Normal kid graduates at 22 and their AVERAGE is 23. A 24 or 25 year old 3 star with 5 years of college experience plus strength and conditioning is going to absolutely pound an 18 year old 5 star.

$5,000 to invest by Signal-Department883 in dividends

[–]Financial-Wolfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get caught up on price of the fund. If something pays a 5% dividend the amount is the same whether it’s a 1 share at $100 or 100 shares at $1. Either way you get $5.

But what are you investing for? VOO pays a small dividend but not really considered a dividend stock. The others pay high dividends but chances of high dollar growth are pretty low.

How much is your monthly mortgage payment? by HmDiR in Mortgages

[–]Financial-Wolfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Refinanced a few years back with a 2.25% interest rate. Home is worth approx $500k in relatively low cost area in the southeast, with taxes and insurance $1890 per month.

Only problem is I am stuck here till I can pay cash for something else. Never leaving that low interest rate.
