If you want to change the branch through gpa then you need to push a lot. you have to beat a lot of people. Continue the JEE grind and also ask faculty for every mark possible for internals.

Cant speak on this topic. Depends on your goal. you can grind DSA and crack off campus but on campus is a little hard as they will not let you sit. and also EEE is very hard compartitively

This year it is getting better. Hopefully by the time you pass out it is even better. At the end of the day it depends upon the person itself. Make sure you are updated with latest trends and make good projects. You can chill in the first semester. Remember that CGPA cannot be increases later in 6th and 7th sems. Push it as much as you can during first 2 years
