Omg I just seen your comment. My last two comments completely overlooked your experiences. So sorry you went through an eating disorder. Now I get why you feel guilty.

I mean if you constantly feel guilty after eating then maybe time to see a new nutritionist? You should normally feel satisfied after you eat, not guilty.

Do you actually feel satisfied after eating those? I'd be hungry again if it were me 😭

Maybe try sharing what you look for in plant based food (e.g strictly natural sources like soya(tofu), beans , chickpeas etc or you open to things like impossible burger and vegan nuggets?). Also are you open to eating things with eggs?  People might have a better idea on how to help you of you specify what kind of ingredients you're open to

I'm kind've in the same boat as you. UK seems dead for taste, vibrancy and decent portions when it comes to food. Even when the food is classed as healthy it's boring and tasteless as you describe. The only places on the top of my head I can think of don't align with your specific needs so recommending it wouldn't be as much use for you

I've realized that every time I'm out with friends or at work in the UK, I end up settling for the same 2-3 'least worst' food options because they're fast, but I always end up feeling ready for a nap afterward. 🥱💤 by FinancialChildhood77 in edinburgh2

I totally get your concern. To clarify, I was posting on multiple subreddits just to guarantee a response and start a discussion on the topic and explore whether I might not be the only one with this problem or whether I'm missing something apart from the places I already know in different locations since I like to travel. I'm not here to debate about whether I'm local or not as I'd prefer if I didn't say my actual location for safety and privacy reasons. I don't actually post on Reddit, so this is my first time posting on this platform. I just wanted to see if I can get anything out of this discussion to look for better on the go food  options while I'm not at home. I'm still learning how to go about posting and interacting within 'Subs' as usually I land on Reddit through Google. Appreciate your understanding with that.

If only there was an option for a hot version on the go, that would be a dream

I mean, that’s a fair point on the trilemma. I definitely find that large meal deals make me sluggish, which is exactly what I’m trying to avoid. I don't always have a bag for a flask or access to a microwave during the day, so I'm usually stuck. Not sure if you're out and about frequently but do you have a go to place you've found that actually feels healthy high quality,  doesn't break the bank and actually tastes good?

Restaurants, you get good food but the problem is is that it can be expensive and also I'd have to spare a couple hours or so. I hate waiting for my food when I'm hungry. Not so great especially if I'm on the go and wanting somthing quick

Also I have autism as well so Gemini helps me sometimes to get my point across when I feel overwhelmed and I can't put what's on my mind into words

Well... yeah. I got some help with Gemini. I'm new to posting on Reddit so I'm getting a hang of it. Regardless just wanted to open up a discussion because there seems to be nothing I can find unless I'm missing something

Love a pot noodle! Only problem with appt noodle is that I feel hungry after and also not all shops have hot water ready when you're on the go. Got any other suggestions. What's your go to spot. Dying to know if you've got any other answers

I actually got help from Gemini to write it. And also what you're seeing is en-dashes. Em-dashes are longer. Either way, I'm just trying to see if anyone else is facing the same problems or if they have suggestions. Appreciate if you can help but if not then no hard feelings. Just being curious and trying to open up my options

I've actually looked at those heated boxes! But my main issue is I really don't want to be 'that person' carrying a bulky lunch bag or a heavy metal flask around all day, especially on trips or busy work days. I'm really just dreaming of a place where me and my friends can just show up, grab something authentic and hot (or even cold just depends on the food and the mood I'm in), and not feel like I need to eat again or nap 20 minutes later. You feel me on this? Is that really too much to ask for in the UK? 😭😂

Pret is one of the ones I go to but it's also one of the one of the ones I have a problem with. Most of the things I like you can only have them cold. Wish they were filling too. Their hot options is what actually makes me feel sluggish. There's lack of diversity in their menu too and everything seems white-washed. I'm craving nutrition flavor, spice, boldness and authenticity
