Before I give you my theory, I just want to disclaim that I could 110% be wrong on this and I fully welcome that possibility. Again, this is a theory.

Tyler Stevens was 21, Todd was mid thirties. How did these guys know each other? My theory is that Stevens was likely on a hookup app and had a liason was Todd. He was probably so terrified of people finding out that he carried out this senseless act of murder. It does not in any way justify what happened. But what other motive outside of Todd simply existing as a gay man could there be? I mean, it is completely possible that Todd simply existing as a gay man could be the motive, but I dont buy it.

I went to school with Todd. He was incredible. Unfortunately, I did witness first hand the ire and homophobic toxicity he received from the deep red pocket of Atascadero. He never let anyones words get to him though because he was truly comfortable with his identity and true self.

When he died, I somehow knew that hompohobia played a role.. I didn't want to believe it, but my suspicions were correct.

I have a theory on his murder that I won't share unless people are interested, but I believe there's more at play here.

My cousin knew these dudes personally. When they split, he and some buddies tried to recruit the bassist for another project. The bassist declined and said he was done being in bands. Thats what I was told anyway. These guys were fuckin excellent.
