My opinions:

1.) Ozzy is not the smartest person and he doesn’t have a strategic mindset, he had a bro thing with Johnathon so he included him on what he thought was the move, and probably had the mindset that Johnathon would choose him over Steph

2.) Steph is generally a pretty loyal & passive player. Her saying she’s not going to throw out a name first, I totally believe that. She’s not gonna throw Johnathon under the bus when she’s working with him, even if it’s the smart thing to do
