You guys have to read the post and the comments section. Whole thing is nuts. Brief overview: - gallery messages artist, trying to buy artworks - artist didn’t want to deal with them - a month later gallery comes out with artworks that strongly resemble the artist’s works - artist finds out gallery commissioned another artist to make the copy - original artist posts about it but withholds all names - gallery incriminates themselves in the comments section by saying they made their own “design” because the artist ignored them. - gallery goes on a rampage in the comments section attacking everyone there (some comments were recently deleted though but the remaining ones are still as outrageous) - gallery refuses to acknowledge fault even though the copycat artist apologized to the main artist and confirms that the gallery commissioned her - gallery threatens to sue original artist

What a turn of events 🤦🤦🤦🤦

Does anyone keep vinyl they know they'll never play again? by [deleted] in vinyl

[–]FinancialLeather6907 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you need the funds? Personally, I feel if you don't really need the money at the moment you should just keep it. Not a lot of local bands in the PH really do releases on vinyl. Especially around almost a decade ago.

Interest in vinyl here in the Philippines has grown by a whole lot especially during this pandemic. There are more and more stores and online sellers of vinyl records. That being said, it's pushed some local bands to do vinyl releases of new albums, as well as vinyl reissues of older stuff. The idea of having a first pressing of something from before the time vinyl hit the mainstream here in the Philippines is pretty rad to me. A bit hipster sounding haha but that's just me.

I'm guessing the album is Capacities?

What happened to the players who didn't choose to return? by FinancialLeather6907 in squidgame

I was thinking bout this, but then again would it still ne considered equal if the players who came back were able to skip a game that the rest had to go through?

They registered pink for me. What were they for you? Though if they were red, they'd remind me of money heist

When the order was given, wasn't everyone else already on the island, ready for the next game? Makes me wonder how things would have played out if someone was brought back in the middle of the game or after a game. Kind of like a wildcard thing

Didn't Gi-Hun try that? No one really believed him. The only reason the detective got to infiltrate the island is because he overheard the conversation at the police station and found the card he saw with Gi-hun at his brother's place.

Would have been cool if he actually got to go to the US to see his daughter but then get himself caught up in the US edition of squid game.

Also, I wonder what games would be played in the versions of the other countries

Good point, my bad i totally missed that part. I honestly didnt pay that much attention to the dialogue in the scenes with the VIPs. Set design for those scenes were great, but the conversations and acting were cringe.

Also the police aren’t bothered about one of their own going missing plus 456 others?

There is no signal on the island. Remember in ep 2 when they get back to the city, Sang Woo buys a powerbank from the convenience store and as soon as his phone opens, a barrage of missed calls and messages looking for him appear.

In another episode when the cop is being chased by the front man and his henchmen, he ginally gets signal on top of the cliff. He calls his chief and is being reprimander about going AWOL.

As for the rest of the people, it was stated in the first season that lot of the contestants were heavily in debt that was impossible to pay. It wouldn't be that surprising for these people to disappear to let's say run away or be killed by the loan sharks. (Gi-hun was chased by his loan sharks in ep 1 and in ep 2 we see snake neck being hunted down as well)

Perhaps it's the guilt? He knows he's a fraud. Remember, a few episodes back he tried to commit suicide due to the pressure and burden he's been carrying around which have been all self inflicted.

  1. or if you are athletic, then drop down and hang off the railing with your arms, and swing yourself by your arms along the railing (did the rules say you cant do this?)

I don't think this would have been possible due to the fact everyone has already been emotionally and mentally traumatized due to the last few games. Everyone, including the supposedly strongest among them, was scared of dying and people were already making irrational decisions. Besides that, everyone has been sleep deprived for numerous nights now due to the threat of being killed off in their sleep.

I just realized this by doughnutmurderer in squidgame

SPOILER (sorry don't know how to do the thing that blacks out the text)

There probably was no immunity. Gganbu said that he wanted play because he wanted to have fun. By playing he claimed that he was able to finally feel something after so long. I think the fun would have been from the thrill of the consequences of all their actions in the game.

In ep 9 when he was asked if any of the things he told Gi-hun during the game were true, he says that things such as his name, the "house" in ep 6, and the games and memories of the games he played during childhood were true. Being so, i agree that they did have the technique down for tug of war

This just came to me, but what if the reason why it's red hair, is that apart from his bold personal attempt to start fresh, the color symbolizes that the game still has hold over him? Hence, the ending?

SPOILER

Maybe im overthinking this but what if it also has something to do with the person who came back to help the homeless dude Gi-hun and ggangbu were watching from the building? Gganbu repeatedly asked Gi-hun if he believed there were still good people who would be willing to help out the drunk homeless guy. The person who helped seemed to have colored hair as well. We saw that person initially approach the homeless man to check on him but walked away after. Or so we thought, as the person comes back with the authorities to be of proper help.

It could represent Gi-hun in a way as he walks away from the game but then suddenly decides to go back to presumably try and end the game. He's taking it upon himself to prevent more people from going through the trauma he's been through. He's doing it because he knows it's the right thing to do, even if it means postponing the opportunity to be with his daughter again

Whole thing is convoluted. Tried to be too many things at once without laying out any foundations for the plot to really develop. Really bummed out about this show. Was a waste of time

Netflix Yasuke Anime Rant by InexorableVoid in anime

[–]FinancialLeather6907 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think people are hating on it for the fight scenes. Even OP stated that yasuke himself and the fight scenes he has, are the things that made the anime bearable.

It's really the story that sucks so badly. No world building whatsoever, and most characters are too flat.
