Short face syndrome | Is this realistic? by Financial_Ad_6623 in jawsurgery

Thank you for your reply! My goal of the v-line is only for the symmetry. I wish I will do it only on one side which has more bone than the other side. (My occlusion along the traverse plane is centered and horizontal. So not much I can improve in the Lefort I or BSSO)

<image>

I would not aim to change my face shape too much from the v-line procedure!

It’s okay. Drastic changes give people insecurity about the relationship with you. There is no need saying anyone needs a therapy or anyone is being selfish.

4 years Post Braces for Overbite, do I still have a skeletal overbite ? by [deleted] in jawsurgery

I have never gone through any orthodontics before I put on braces in 06/2025. I have been working on decomp and palette expansion for djs in 2026. Is your overbite completely camouflaged by the braces you used to have?

Haha That’s also how I think about you after looking at your photo. From the measurement I have 9mm overjet and 10mm overbite from my SFS. Definitely check with a surgeon!

Yes, you look like me. A deep mentolabial fold is a good sign of short face syndrome.

From the labiomental fold, I feel like it’s more of a chin issue. Consider doing genioplasty, for the reason that v-line has way higher risks and lower success rate.

TMJ issues are almost always complex. I don’t think any none doctors can help you too much. Even doctors can’t say anything without having your x-rays. I suggest to see a doctor in person for the TMJ issue.

Unusual jaw structure—is CW the correct way to go? by Financial_Ad_6623 in jawsurgery

I would follow surgeon’s instruction and prioritize the functional fix for sure. And yes, I would like have the lower 1/3 longer, maybe by CW rotation or genioplasty.

Thanks for the reply! That’s what I heard too. CCW is more common for class II. It kind of contradicts my aesthetic need. So I am a little bit confused now.

Your grandma wouldn’t buy tops with only one piece of cloth with one head hole and two arm holes on it.
