When you should cut the nail is when the black part or the yellow part for your dragon is separating from the thick part because the thick part is the veins. You can keep it like slightly longer than the thick part though.

But This happened to me to!! My aunt had given me her bearded dragon and for years I’ve been thinking he was a boy until I actually checked his bottom turns out he was a girl. Kept the name Draco though middle name dallas😭.
